To whom it may concern:
It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter of support for Shuaibu Umar. I have worked with Shuaibu
since 2013 when he worked in the Kansas State Polytechnic Student Life Center and when he was a Senator
for Student Governing Association. From my work with Shuaibu, I have seen how his leadership skills,
dedication, and interest helping others would make him a valuable asset to your team.
I have come to know how hardworking and dedicated Shuaibu is to both his studies and his campus
involvement. Shuaibu has worked in a leadership role at Kansas State University since his first year here, and I
have been lucky enough to co-supervise him and work with him for the past few years. Shuaibu has become
involved with student leadership activities on campus such as becoming an Arts, Science and Business Senator
within Student Governing Association, a member of the Multicultural Connections Committee, a member of
the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) committee, and a member of the Faculty Student Affairs committee.
Each position has allowed him to develop his leadership styles in different ways. As an SGA Senator for Arts,
Science and Business, Shuaibu was able to take feedback from students in his program and tell SGA of
concerns or issues that should be addressed within that degree program. Being an SGA Senator in Arts,
Science and Business meant that Shuaibu was in regular communication with his professors as well as his
fellow classmates. This shows his drive and dedication to fully envelop himself in his degree and his campus
community. As a member of the EOF committee, Shuaibu helped to decide where students’ privilege fees
would be dedicated and helped to ensure keeping the cost of those fees at a reasonable price for future
students.
Just as Shuaibu is dedicated to his student leadership positions on campus, he is also dedicated to his studies
and serving his collegiate community. Shuaibu enjoyed his technology management classes so much so that he
continued on at K-State to pursue his Master of Professional Technology in Information Technology
Management. He is genuinely looking forward to taking what he has learned from the academics of technology
management and applying them to real life, which can be seen by his good academic standing. It has been a
pleasure to watch him encourage other technology management students to become involved in meeting other
industry professionals.
Shuaibu has developed good working relationships at the school with his academic advisors, staff, and many of
his professors because he is willing to take the extra time to get to know those individuals. Shuaibu is a great
representation of a hardworking and dedicated Kansas State Polytechnic student, as shown in his employment
through his positions held on campus. Shuaibu is that student and employee that one can count on to be a
mentor, be reliable, and be professional. He has been hardworking with his schoolwork, his outside
commitments as well as his jobs, and I know he will be just as hardworking throughout the entirety of his
career in aviation. Above all, Shuaibu is an incredibly enjoyable person to be around while wanting to
genuinely serve his community and others. I recommend Shuaibu Umar and would be more than happy to tell
you more.
Sincerely,
