BREAK OUT SESSIONS:
Bully/Harassment
Join us in reviewing Maryland’s Model Policy for
Bullying, Harassment and Intimidation. The workshop
will also offer tips for how to approach bullying within
the child’s education program and how to properly
report bullying to authorities.
Special Needs Trust/ ABLE
This session allows parents of special needs children to
familiarize themselves with SNT’s and how they are
used in favor of your child(ren)’s future( s).
Benefits Counseling
Learn your options for receiving work incentives if you
are between the ages of 18 and 64 and are a SSI or SSDI
recipient. This session assists with understanding your
state and federal benefit programs, insurance coverage
and protecting you monthly income.
10 Tips for IEP
Considering an Individualized Education Program for
your child? This workshop helps you figure out how to
work with institutions to collaborate and create an
effective, personalized program for your child.

Self Advocacy
Self Advocacy is understanding your strengths and
needs, identifying your personal goals, knowing your
legal rights and responsibilities, and communicating
those to others “Learn How to Speak Up Onesllf”
Behavioral Resources
This workshop will provide strategies and ideas parents
and caregivers can implement to assist their child in
displaying alternative positive behaviors. Participants
will receive concrete strategies, handouts, and activities
they can implement with their child to improve
functional behaviors.
Respite Services
Respite is a program that helps caregivers get a break
from the care they provide to a loved one. Come and
learn more about available services.
Technology at Your Fingertips
Learn simple techniques and apps that will help you
maximize the use of your Smart Phone, Tablet, or iPad.
Bring your device along with power cord to class.
Transitioning Youth Panel Discussion
Hear about the experiences of both students and parents
about the valuable lessons learned on their path to
transitioning from middle school to high school and
beyond. Time will be allotted for questions from the
audience.
Cost is $10 (includes lunch, morning refreshments and handouts)
