K-2nd
Grade:
1. DailyCheck-In:guidedbythe teacher,studentswill doaquickcheck-inof how theyfeel
emotionally,mentally,andphysicallyatthe startof class.The DailyCheck-Inisdesignedtofocus
the student’smindforthe day’sartisticendeavor.
2. DailyWarm-Up: guidedbythe teacher,studentswill doaquick,butthoroughwarm-upof the
voice andbody.
3. DailyActivity:Studentswillreceive instructionsfromthe teacher.
4. Clean-Up:Studentswill cleanuptheirworkspace,makingsure toreturnany un-finished
projectsto theirclass’appointedspace.
5. Cool-Down:Afterclean-up,studentswillshow thattheyare preparedforthe Cool-Downby
sittingdownwiththeirhandsintheirlaps,andtheirlipsclosed. We will doalotof fun,silly,
high-energyactivities inTheatre class,sothe cool-downisdesignedtore-focusthe student’s
mindforre-entryintothe outside world.

Grade:
1. Daily Journal Check-In:Immediatelyuponenteringthe classroom, studentsshouldgettheir
journalsandbegin.Theywill have three minutesatthe start of everyclasstodo a check-inin
theirjournals:theycanwrite paragraphs,poems,draw pictures,draw words,and
pictures…anythingthatrespondstothe dailyprompt. The Daily Journal Check-Inisdesignedto
focusthe student’smindforthe day’sartisticendeavorbygetting theircreative juicesflowing.
The DailyJournal Check-Inisalsodesignedtohelpthe teachergettoknow the students’artistic
side.
