2. Definition
• A quantifier is what we use when we want to
give someone information about the number of
something.
Examples:
1. You left some bread on the table.
2. I've got a few questions to ask you.
3. For countable nouns
• too many–MASSA➡️ There are too many dogs
• many–MOLTS ➡️ There are many books in my bag
• a few–UNS QUANTS➡️ There are a few cookies in
the kitchen
• few– POCS ➡️ Few people have seen this painting
• several – DIVERSOS➡️ Pick up several colours
• none of – CAP DE ➡️ None of the books are cool
4. For uncountable nouns
• too much - MASSA ➡️ There is too much food in the
fridge
• not much - NO GAIRE ➡️ There is not much time
left
• a little - UNA MICA ➡️ I want a little bite of chocolate
• little – POC ➡️ The child ate little at dinnertime
• a bit of – UNA MICA DE ➡️ There is a bit of coffee
• a good deal of – UNA BONA PART DE ➡️ I want a
good deal of cheese.
5. For countable and uncountable nouns
• all of– TOT ➡️ She took all of my clothes
• some– ALGUN ➡️ I left some milk in the fridge
• most of– LA MAJORIA ➡️ Most of the girls are brunettes
• (not) enough – NO SUFICIENT ➡️ That is not enough flour to
make a cake
• a lot of– MOLT DE ➡️ You are going to receive a lot of backlash
• lots of– MOLTS DE ➡️ They show lots of love
• plenty of– ABUNDANCIA ➡️ I have plenty of shoes
• a lack of– FALTA DE ➡️ There is a lack of respect in my class.
