UNFINISHED AGENDA
Editor's Notes
FINISH Partners in the financial inclusion process bring in the finances for asset creation . The process adopted by FINISH i.e. behavioral change campaigns in communities with capacity building of stakeholders in safe sanitation leads to creation of sanitation densities That not only enables uniform and quality construction based on safe aspects but also creates scale for FINISH partners and other supply chain participants . Eventually it also helps the beneficiary by cost reductions arising from economies of scale . Most financial inclusion activities are unable to create impact due to high transaction costs. FINISH defines Financial Inclusion as the efficient process of enabling excluded households build development assets with the available financial resources. The FI process in FINISH is not limited to opening of bank accounts or accessing credit only.
Community efforts and other donor funds along with the FINISH funds and sanitation investment funds are leveraged for developing partners , creating behavior change , building supply chains to enable ultimately sanitation densities. The FINISH project is now looking at expansion in the reuse part of sanitation in the form of biogas and fertilizer so that the economic value add can sustain the behaiour change.
