What’s the number one thing?
The glory of God!
1 Corinthians 10:31 NKJV
31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of
God.
Deuteronomy 30:1-10 NKJV
1“Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing
and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all
the nations where the Lord your God drives you, 2 and you return to the Lord your
God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and
your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, 3 that the Lord your God
will bring you back from captivity and have compassion on you and gather you
again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you. 4 If any of
you are driven out to the farthest parts under Heaven, from there the Lord your
God will gather you, and from there He will bring you. 5 Then the Lord your God
will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it.
He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers.
6 And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your
descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul
that you may live. 7 Also the Lord your God will put all these curses on your
enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. 8 And you will again
obey the voice of the Lord and do all His commandments which I command you
today. 9 The Lord your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in
the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock and in the produce of
your land for good. For the Lord will again rejoice over you for good as He
rejoiced over your fathers, 10 if you obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep
His commandments and His statutes which are written in this Book of the Law
and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Deuteronomy 30:1-10 NKJV
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NKJV
19 I call Heaven and Earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before
you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and
your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the Lord your God, that you
may obey His voice and that you may cling to Him for He is your life and the
length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to
your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NKJV
Romans 11:26-27 NKJV
26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
“The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27 For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.”
Romans 11:26-27 NKJV

Will all Israel be saved in the end times?
Romans 11:26 plainly says, “All Israel will be saved.”
The important question that arises is: “What is meant by Israel?”
Is “Israel” literal or figurative (i.e., referring to the ethnic Jews or referring to the
Church)?
Speaking on Hell: “They had better hope it is a literal, physical place.” John
Bisagno
Figurative Language:
Implied meaning Conveys an idea. Paints a picture in the reader’s mind. Uses
exaggerations and comparisons. Standard language is inadequate.
Jesus took the Scriptures literally.
If God’s commands in Deuteronomy 8:3, 6:13, and 6:16 were not literal, Jesus
would not have used them and they would have been powerless to stop Satan’s
mouth, which they certainly did.
Those who take a literal approach to the promises of the Old Testament believe
that the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will be restored to
a right relationship with God and receive the fulfillment of the covenants.
Those who advocate figurative language (replacement theology) basically
affirm that the Church has completely replaced Israel and will inherit God’s
promises to Israel; the covenants, then, will be fulfilled only in a spiritual sense.
Replacement theology teaches that Israel will not inherit the actual land of
Israel; the Church is the “new Israel,” and ethnic Israel is forever excluded from
the promises—the Jews will not inherit the Promised Land as Jews per se.
This morning we will take the literal approach.
The passages that speak of future Israel are difficult to view as figurative for the
Church.
The classic text (Romans 11:16–24) depicts Israel as distinct from the Church: the
“natural branches” are the Jews, and the “wild branches” are the Gentiles.
The “olive tree” is the collective people of God.
The “natural branches” (Jews) are “cut off” the tree for unbelief and the “wild
branches” (believing Gentiles) are grafted in.
Romans 11:16-24 NKJV
16 For if the firstfruit (first portion of dough) is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the
root is holy so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches (Jews) were
broken off, and you (Gentiles), being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among
them, and with them became a partaker of the root (Jesus) and fatness of the
olive tree (Holy Spirit), 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast,
remember that you do not support the root, but the root (Christ) supports you.
19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20 Well
said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not
be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may
not spare you either. 22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on
those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His
goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. 23 And they also, if they do not
continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were
grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these,
who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
Romans 11:16-24 NKJV
This has the effect of making the Jews “jealous” and then drawing them to faith
in Christ, so they might be “grafted in” again and receive their promised
inheritance.
Romans 11:11 NKJV
11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through
their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles.
The “natural branches” are still distinct from the “wild branches,” so that God’s
covenant with His people is literally fulfilled.
Romans 11:26–29, citing Isaiah 59:20–21; 27:9; Jeremiah 31:33–34, says:
Romans 11:26-29 NKJV
26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
“The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27 For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.”
28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the
election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. 29 For the gifts and the
calling of God are irrevocable.
Romans 11:26-29 NKJV
Jeremiah 31:33-34 NKJV
33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those
days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts;
and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man
teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they
all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord.
For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
Jeremiah 31:33-34 NKJV
Here, Paul emphasizes the “irrevocable” nature of Israel’s calling as a nation.
Romans 11:12 NKJV
12 Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles,
how much more their fullness!
Isaiah predicted that a “remnant” of Israel would one day “be called the Holy
People, the Redeemed of the LORD.”
Isaiah 62:12 NKJV
12 And they shall call them The Holy People,
The Redeemed of the Lord;
And you shall be called Sought Out,
A City Not Forsaken.
Regardless of Israel’s current state of unbelief, a future remnant will in fact repent
and fulfill their calling to establish righteousness by faith (Romans 10:1–13; 11:5).
This conversion will coincide with the fulfillment of Moses’ prediction of Israel’s
permanent restoration to the land (Deuteronomy 30:1–10).
When Paul says Israel will be “saved” in Romans 11:26, he refers to their
deliverance from sin (verse 27) as they accept the Savior, their Messiah, in the
end times.
Moses said, “The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of
your descendants, so that you may love Him with all your heart and with all your
soul, and live” (Deuteronomy 30:6).
Israel’s physical inheritance of the land promised to Abraham will be an integral
part of God’s ultimate plan (Deuteronomy 30:3–5).
So how will “all Israel be saved”?
The details of this deliverance are filled out in passages such as Zechariah 8—14
and Revelation 7—19, which speak of end-times Israel at Christ’s return.
The key verse describing the coming to faith of the future remnant of Israel is
Zechariah 12:10, “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of
Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom
they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and
grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.”
This occurs at the end of the tribulation prophesied in Daniel 9:24–27.
The apostle John references this event in Revelation 1:7.
The faithful remnant of Israel is epitomized in Revelation 7:1–8.
These faithful ones the Lord will save and bring back to Jerusalem “in truth and
righteousness” (Zechariah 8:7–8).
After Israel is spiritually restored, Christ will establish His millennial kingdom on
Earth.
Israel will be regathered from the ends of the Earth (Isaiah 11:12; 62:10).
Isaiah 11:12 NKJV
12 He will set up a banner for the nations,
And will assemble the outcasts of Israel,
And gather together the dispersed of Judah
From the four corners of the Earth.
The “dry bones” of Ezekiel’s vision will be brought together, covered with flesh,
and miraculously resuscitated (Ezekiel 37:1–14).
As God promised, the salvation of Israel will involve both a spiritual awakening
(figurative) and a geographical home (literal): “I will put my Spirit in you and you
will live, and I will settle you in your own land” (Ezekiel 37:14).
In the Day of the Lord God will “reclaim the surviving remnant of His people”
(Isaiah 11:11).
Jesus Christ will return and destroy the armies gathered against Him in rebellion
(Revelation 19).
Sinners will be judged, and the faithful remnant of Israel will be set apart forever
as God’s holy people (Zechariah 13:8—14:21).
Isaiah 12 is their song of deliverance; Zion will rule over all the nations under the
banner of Messiah the King.
Isaiah 12:1-6 MSG
My Strength and Song
1 And you will say in that day,
“I thank you, God.
You were angry
but your anger wasn’t forever.
You withdrew your anger
and moved in and comforted me.
2 “Yes, indeed—God is my salvation.
I trust, I won’t be afraid.
God—yes God!—is my strength and song,
best of all, my salvation!”
3-4 Joyfully you’ll pull up buckets of water
from the wells of salvation.
And as you do it, you’ll say,
“Give thanks to God.
Call out His name.
Ask Him anything!
Shout to the nations, tell them what He’s done,
spread the news of His great reputation!
5-6 “Sing praise-songs to God. He’s done it all!
Let the whole Earth know what He’s done!
Raise the roof! Sing your hearts out, O Zion!
The Greatest lives among you: The Holy of Israel.”

The Jewish people are the rightful owners to the disputed Holy Land.
God gave them the title to the land over 4,000 years ago through an
unconditional covenant He made with their forefather Abraham and later
confirmed with his son Isaac and grandson Jacob.
It is an everlasting covenant.
God will never rescind His promise to the Jews.
God had also made promises to the Arab people through their ancestor
Ishmael, Abraham’s first-born son.
The promises were also unconditional and have been fulfilled to the letter.
God’s Promise to the Arabs
Exclusive: Joseph Farah explains what is prophesied about future of his people.
Published November 19, 2014 at 7:40pm
As an Arab Christian, Joseph Farah searched the Scriptures to find out the fate of
his people (Arabs) in prophecy and what promises God makes to them.
Most people would be surprised at what the Bible actually says.
Ishmael and his mother, Hagar, there was also reconciliation between Ishmael
(89) and Isaac (75), his brother from another mother, at Abraham’s funeral.
(Genesis 25:8-9)
The Bible tells us Ishmael had 12 sons who populated the area from Egypt to
Assyria. (Genesis 25:17-18)
Recall also that God made specific promises to both Abraham and Hagar
regarding Ishmael.
In Genesis 17:18-20, Abraham asks for a blessing upon Ishmael and God
responds: "And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou
shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish My covenant with him for an
everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. And as for Ishmael, I have
heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will
multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a
great nation."
Ishmael is to give rise to a great nation.
What nation was that?
What was the great nation that would come out of Ishmael?
Confused or puzzled about that?
No doubt there have been nations founded by the sons of Ishmael that were
great in the sense of terrible great. But is that all God meant?
Did He mean the empires of Babylon, Assyria and Egypt?
Did He mean terrible great in the sense of those past empires?
Or is there more meaning in that term “great”?
Is there a promise to Abraham that is yet to be fulfilled?
The promise is repeated to Hagar in Genesis 21:17-18: "And God heard the voice
of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of Heaven, and said unto
her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad
where he is. Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him
a great nation."
So, what was that nation promised to Ishmael?
Hagar and Ishmael were on their way back to Egypt, her native land.
Ishmael later marries an Egyptian woman.
There's a definite Egypt connection here and since we know Ishmael's sons
spread out in the lands from Egypt to Assyria, we have another clue.
So, what is the future of the great nations of Egypt and Assyria?
We find out in Isaiah 19:21-25.
Here's the happy ending for Ishmael, Egypt and Assyria.
Isaiah 19:21-25 KJV
21 And the Lord shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the Lord in
that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation (offering); yea, they shall vow a
vow unto the Lord, and perform it.
22 And the Lord shall smite Egypt: He shall smite and heal it: and they shall return
even to the Lord, and He shall be intreated (asked) of them and shall heal them.
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian
shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall
serve with the Assyrians.
24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing
in the midst of the land:
25 Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt My people, and
Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel Mine inheritance.
Isaiah 19:21-25 KJV
Egypt, Assyria and Israel all one big happy family – imagine that!
Egypt is called God's people.
Assyria is called the work of God's hands and Israel is His inheritance.
One-third, one-third and one-third.
Wouldn't father Abraham be happy about that!
The Plan of Hope & Salvation:
John 3:16-17 NKJV
16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not
send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him
might be saved.”
John 14:6 NKJV
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the
Father except through Me.”
Romans 3:23 NKJV
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 6:23a NKJV
23a For the wages of sin is death,
• Death in this life (the first death) is 100%.
• Even Jesus, the only one who doesn’t deserve death, died in this life to
pay the penalty for our sin.
• The death referred to in Romans 6:23a is the “second death” explained in
Revelation 21:8.
Revelation 21:8 NKJV
8 “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral,
sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with
fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
• Anyone who’s lifestyle is one or more of the sins listed in Revelation 21:8,
will experience the “second death,” if they do not repent.
• To Repent means to turn around, to go in the opposite direction, to turn
away from sin and believe in Jesus.
Romans 5:8 NKJV
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.
Romans 6:23b NKJV
23b but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Revelation 21:7 NKJV
7 “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be
My son.”
• Romans 10:9-10 explain to us how to be overcomers.
Romans 10:9-10 NKJV
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that
God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one
believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation.
Romans 10:13 NKJV
13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

02-16-20, Deuteronomy 30;1-10 & 19-20, Chosen

  • 1. Deuteronomy 30:1-10;19-20 Chosen February 16, 2020 First Baptist Church Jackson, Mississippi USA What’s the number one thing? The glory of God! 1 Corinthians 10:31 NKJV 31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Deuteronomy 30:1-10 NKJV 1“Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you, 2 and you return to the Lord your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, 3 that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you. 4 If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under Heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you. 5 Then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. 6 And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul that you may live. 7 Also the Lord your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. 8 And you will again obey the voice of the Lord and do all His commandments which I command you today. 9 The Lord your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock and in the produce of your land for good. For the Lord will again rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers, 10 if you obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this Book of the Law and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 30:1-10 NKJV
  • 2. Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NKJV 19 I call Heaven and Earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice and that you may cling to Him for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NKJV Romans 11:26-27 NKJV 26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; 27 For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.” Romans 11:26-27 NKJV www.GotQuestions.org "Got Questions Ministries seeks to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by providing Biblical, applicable, and timely answers to spiritually related questions through an internet presence." Will all Israel be saved in the end times? Romans 11:26 plainly says, “All Israel will be saved.” The important question that arises is: “What is meant by Israel?” Is “Israel” literal or figurative (i.e., referring to the ethnic Jews or referring to the Church)? Speaking on Hell: “They had better hope it is a literal, physical place.” John Bisagno Figurative Language: Implied meaning Conveys an idea. Paints a picture in the reader’s mind. Uses exaggerations and comparisons. Standard language is inadequate. Jesus took the Scriptures literally. If God’s commands in Deuteronomy 8:3, 6:13, and 6:16 were not literal, Jesus would not have used them and they would have been powerless to stop Satan’s mouth, which they certainly did.
  • 3. Those who take a literal approach to the promises of the Old Testament believe that the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will be restored to a right relationship with God and receive the fulfillment of the covenants. Those who advocate figurative language (replacement theology) basically affirm that the Church has completely replaced Israel and will inherit God’s promises to Israel; the covenants, then, will be fulfilled only in a spiritual sense. Replacement theology teaches that Israel will not inherit the actual land of Israel; the Church is the “new Israel,” and ethnic Israel is forever excluded from the promises—the Jews will not inherit the Promised Land as Jews per se. This morning we will take the literal approach. The passages that speak of future Israel are difficult to view as figurative for the Church. The classic text (Romans 11:16–24) depicts Israel as distinct from the Church: the “natural branches” are the Jews, and the “wild branches” are the Gentiles. The “olive tree” is the collective people of God. The “natural branches” (Jews) are “cut off” the tree for unbelief and the “wild branches” (believing Gentiles) are grafted in. Romans 11:16-24 NKJV 16 For if the firstfruit (first portion of dough) is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches (Jews) were broken off, and you (Gentiles), being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root (Jesus) and fatness of the olive tree (Holy Spirit), 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root (Christ) supports you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. 22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. 23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? Romans 11:16-24 NKJV
  • 4. This has the effect of making the Jews “jealous” and then drawing them to faith in Christ, so they might be “grafted in” again and receive their promised inheritance. Romans 11:11 NKJV 11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. The “natural branches” are still distinct from the “wild branches,” so that God’s covenant with His people is literally fulfilled. Romans 11:26–29, citing Isaiah 59:20–21; 27:9; Jeremiah 31:33–34, says: Romans 11:26-29 NKJV 26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; 27 For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.” 28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. 29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Romans 11:26-29 NKJV Jeremiah 31:33-34 NKJV 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.” Jeremiah 31:33-34 NKJV Here, Paul emphasizes the “irrevocable” nature of Israel’s calling as a nation. Romans 11:12 NKJV 12 Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!
  • 5. Isaiah predicted that a “remnant” of Israel would one day “be called the Holy People, the Redeemed of the LORD.” Isaiah 62:12 NKJV 12 And they shall call them The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord; And you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken. Regardless of Israel’s current state of unbelief, a future remnant will in fact repent and fulfill their calling to establish righteousness by faith (Romans 10:1–13; 11:5). This conversion will coincide with the fulfillment of Moses’ prediction of Israel’s permanent restoration to the land (Deuteronomy 30:1–10). When Paul says Israel will be “saved” in Romans 11:26, he refers to their deliverance from sin (verse 27) as they accept the Savior, their Messiah, in the end times. Moses said, “The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love Him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live” (Deuteronomy 30:6). Israel’s physical inheritance of the land promised to Abraham will be an integral part of God’s ultimate plan (Deuteronomy 30:3–5). So how will “all Israel be saved”? The details of this deliverance are filled out in passages such as Zechariah 8—14 and Revelation 7—19, which speak of end-times Israel at Christ’s return. The key verse describing the coming to faith of the future remnant of Israel is Zechariah 12:10, “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.” This occurs at the end of the tribulation prophesied in Daniel 9:24–27.
  • 6. The apostle John references this event in Revelation 1:7. The faithful remnant of Israel is epitomized in Revelation 7:1–8. These faithful ones the Lord will save and bring back to Jerusalem “in truth and righteousness” (Zechariah 8:7–8). After Israel is spiritually restored, Christ will establish His millennial kingdom on Earth. Israel will be regathered from the ends of the Earth (Isaiah 11:12; 62:10). Isaiah 11:12 NKJV 12 He will set up a banner for the nations, And will assemble the outcasts of Israel, And gather together the dispersed of Judah From the four corners of the Earth. The “dry bones” of Ezekiel’s vision will be brought together, covered with flesh, and miraculously resuscitated (Ezekiel 37:1–14). As God promised, the salvation of Israel will involve both a spiritual awakening (figurative) and a geographical home (literal): “I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land” (Ezekiel 37:14). In the Day of the Lord God will “reclaim the surviving remnant of His people” (Isaiah 11:11). Jesus Christ will return and destroy the armies gathered against Him in rebellion (Revelation 19). Sinners will be judged, and the faithful remnant of Israel will be set apart forever as God’s holy people (Zechariah 13:8—14:21). Isaiah 12 is their song of deliverance; Zion will rule over all the nations under the banner of Messiah the King.
  • 7. Isaiah 12:1-6 MSG My Strength and Song 1 And you will say in that day, “I thank you, God. You were angry but your anger wasn’t forever. You withdrew your anger and moved in and comforted me. 2 “Yes, indeed—God is my salvation. I trust, I won’t be afraid. God—yes God!—is my strength and song, best of all, my salvation!” 3-4 Joyfully you’ll pull up buckets of water from the wells of salvation. And as you do it, you’ll say, “Give thanks to God. Call out His name. Ask Him anything! Shout to the nations, tell them what He’s done, spread the news of His great reputation! 5-6 “Sing praise-songs to God. He’s done it all! Let the whole Earth know what He’s done! Raise the roof! Sing your hearts out, O Zion! The Greatest lives among you: The Holy of Israel.” Isaiah 12:1-6 MSG Isaiah 12:6 MSG “The Greatest lives among you: The Holy of Israel.” Another recommended resource: Understanding End Times Prophecy by Paul Benware. • 8. Contributed by A. Bickel on June 15, 2007 www.Sermoncentral.com Auburn Baptist Church Auburn, Illinois 62615 217-468-6345 The Jewish people are the rightful owners to the disputed Holy Land. God gave them the title to the land over 4,000 years ago through an unconditional covenant He made with their forefather Abraham and later confirmed with his son Isaac and grandson Jacob. It is an everlasting covenant. God will never rescind His promise to the Jews. God had also made promises to the Arab people through their ancestor Ishmael, Abraham’s first-born son. The promises were also unconditional and have been fulfilled to the letter. God’s Promise to the Arabs Exclusive: Joseph Farah explains what is prophesied about future of his people. Published November 19, 2014 at 7:40pm As an Arab Christian, Joseph Farah searched the Scriptures to find out the fate of his people (Arabs) in prophecy and what promises God makes to them. Most people would be surprised at what the Bible actually says. Ishmael and his mother, Hagar, there was also reconciliation between Ishmael (89) and Isaac (75), his brother from another mother, at Abraham’s funeral. (Genesis 25:8-9) The Bible tells us Ishmael had 12 sons who populated the area from Egypt to Assyria. (Genesis 25:17-18)
  • 9. Recall also that God made specific promises to both Abraham and Hagar regarding Ishmael. In Genesis 17:18-20, Abraham asks for a blessing upon Ishmael and God responds: "And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation." Ishmael is to give rise to a great nation. What nation was that? What was the great nation that would come out of Ishmael? Confused or puzzled about that? No doubt there have been nations founded by the sons of Ishmael that were great in the sense of terrible great. But is that all God meant? Did He mean the empires of Babylon, Assyria and Egypt? Did He mean terrible great in the sense of those past empires? Or is there more meaning in that term “great”? Is there a promise to Abraham that is yet to be fulfilled? The promise is repeated to Hagar in Genesis 21:17-18: "And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of Heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation." So, what was that nation promised to Ishmael? Hagar and Ishmael were on their way back to Egypt, her native land. Ishmael later marries an Egyptian woman. There's a definite Egypt connection here and since we know Ishmael's sons spread out in the lands from Egypt to Assyria, we have another clue.
  • 10. So, what is the future of the great nations of Egypt and Assyria? We find out in Isaiah 19:21-25. Here's the happy ending for Ishmael, Egypt and Assyria. Isaiah 19:21-25 KJV 21 And the Lord shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the Lord in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation (offering); yea, they shall vow a vow unto the Lord, and perform it. 22 And the Lord shall smite Egypt: He shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the Lord, and He shall be intreated (asked) of them and shall heal them. 23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians. 24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: 25 Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel Mine inheritance. Isaiah 19:21-25 KJV Egypt, Assyria and Israel all one big happy family – imagine that! Egypt is called God's people. Assyria is called the work of God's hands and Israel is His inheritance. One-third, one-third and one-third. Wouldn't father Abraham be happy about that! The Plan of Hope & Salvation: John 3:16-17 NKJV 16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Romans 3:23 NKJV 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 6:23a NKJV 23a For the wages of sin is death, • Death in this life (the first death) is 100%. • Even Jesus, the only one who doesn’t deserve death, died in this life to pay the penalty for our sin. • The death referred to in Romans 6:23a is the “second death” explained in Revelation 21:8. Revelation 21:8 NKJV 8 “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” • Anyone who’s lifestyle is one or more of the sins listed in Revelation 21:8, will experience the “second death,” if they do not repent. • To Repent means to turn around, to go in the opposite direction, to turn away from sin and believe in Jesus. Romans 5:8 NKJV 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 6:23b NKJV 23b but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Revelation 21:7 NKJV 7 “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.” • Romans 10:9-10 explain to us how to be overcomers. Romans 10:9-10 NKJV 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:13 NKJV 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
