The Combat System Part Task Trainer (CS PTT) team achieved two significant milestones. They received the Electro Optical System Part Task Trainer (EOS PTT), which is located at Randwick Barracks, NSW and is identical to the system that will be fitted onto the destroyers except for a simulated laser range finder. Additionally, the CS PTT team successfully completed the installation and setup of the Navigation Radar Part Task Trainer at the Lidcombe multi-user depot in Sydney, which consists of a multi-pilot console, radar equipment rack, and radar scanner head. A further seven PTTs will be installed at training facilities by the end of the year.

The Combat System Part Task Trainer (CS PTT) team has recently
achieved two significant milestones.
Firstly, the team has received the Electro Optical System Part Task
Trainer (EOS PTT) which is now located at Randwick
Barracks, NSW.
The EOS PTT is identical to the system that will be fitted onto the
destroyers with the exception of a simulated laser range finder
function.
The PTT provides surveillance and target tracking capability during
the day and at night.
It consists of an electro optical director fitted with a daylight TV
camera and thermal imager, a platform control cabinet, and a laser
range finder simulator.
The EOS PTT will be used by the Support IPT to deliver
operator and maintainer training to the first crew of each ship. It
will be controlled by a multi-function console provided as part of the
Australian Tactical Interface PTT.
Additionally, the CS PTT team also successfully completed the
installation and set to work of the Navigation Radar Part Task
Trainer at the Lidcombe multi-user depot in Sydney.
The Navigation Radar PTT is an accurate working representation
of the Navigation Radar fitted to the destroyers and consists of a
multi-pilot console, a radar equipment rack, and a radar scanner
head.
The Navigation Radar is used to provide a clear indication of fixed
and floating hazards in order to aid coastal navigation and harbour
approaches and help prevent collisions.
A further seven PTTs will be installed at a number of training
facilities by the end of this year.
