1. ABOUT MISS PLUS SIZE BEIJING
Miss Plus Size International Beijing is a brain child of Samantha Sibanda a
Zimbabwean based in Beijing China. Ms Sibanda a plus size herself started this
competition in China in April 2015 after realizing the huge stereotypes that
people had about plus size women.
Miss plus size International Beijing is a competition where plus size women from
all walks of life come together to celebrate the beauty of size in a non
judgmental environment showcasing how proud and comfortable they are in their
bodies. This pageant is also there to instil confidence to those plus size women
who have low self esteem because of their weight.
There are lots of stereotypes that people have about plus size women. Some
think being plus size means you eat a lot, very lazy, unhealthy and ugly. We need
to let the world know that it is possible to be plus size, intelligent, and beautiful
We at Miss Plus Size International do not encourage or promote obesity, we
purely provide a platform for the plus size women of the world to showcase
their beauty.
ABOUT THE PAGEANT
Since April 2015 the pageant has become a yearly event happening every end of
of April each year.
The event has 4 categories which are as follows:-
Traditional/Cultural Wear - 25% Contestants have to wear something that
expresses their culture, nation and identity .This will be judged on
confidence, poise, modeling ability and stage presence. (2017 we are adding a
stand alone prize for BEST DRESSED TRADITIONAL WEAR)
Fashion Pant Wear-25%: All delegates must carry themselves with dignity,
poise and sophistication. Judges will be evaluating how well her choice of apparel
suits her (such as fit, color, and style) as well as her on-stage presentation.
Fashion Pant Wear Details: Attire should be dressy. This should be a pants suit
or pants and blouse that one would wear to a cocktail party. It should be in good
taste and not provocative or too tight. No dresses, please.
Judging Criteria: Modeling ability, personality, grooming, and poise.
Evening Gown - 25% They will wear something that expresses their style and is

2. age-appropriate. Low cut dresses should not be worn. In the same respect, high
cut dresses and low-back dresses should be considered inappropriate. Gowns
must be floor-length. Evening Gown will be judged on poise, stage-presence,
modeling ability and grace.
Talent: This is a competition separate unto itself and optional, it will not affect
your score of other things. Talent may consist of singing, dancing, poetry
reading, sign language, etc. This competition is judged on stage presence,
originality and difficulty of routine. Props are allowed. Talent acts must not
exceed 3 minutes. No fire acts, allowed. Each delegate will provide a CD of their
own music for performance.
On stage final question- Top Finalist. The question may be concerning current
events and it will count for (25%) of the finals night score.
JUDGES
Each year we get a panel of judges made up of plus size men and women from all
walks of life. We feel its best for a plus size to be judged by a plus size.
