ALONE
Is it better to be alone or is it better to be with someone?
ACTIVITY 1: RECALLING PREV.
LEARNING
Purpose: To recall what you learned in the previous class.
Instructions:
1. What did you learn in the last class?
2. What are some useful expressions that you remember from
the last class?
3. What are some words that are difficult for you to
remember?
4. Make a comparison with your info and your friend’s info.
ACTIVITY 1: GUIDING STRUCTURES
AND FUNCTIONS.
 Comparative adjectives.
 What type of comparative adjectives we may have?
 You are older than me.
 You work more hours than me.
 You are taller than me
 I am smaller than you.
ACTIVITY 2: WARM UP.
PURPOSE: TO ENGAGE STUDENTS IN A NEW DAY OF
CLASS.
 Bingo.
Instructions:
 Take a look at the words written on the whiteboard.
 Choose seven out of those words.
 The teacher will say some words and you will cross out.
 Once you have crossed out all your words then you will be the
winner.
 To define your victory then you should confirm what each of the
words mean.
ACTIVITY 2: GUIDING STRUCTURES AND
FUNCTIONS.
ACTIVITY 3: ALONE AT THE SEA.
PURPOSE: TO DESCRIBE HOW LIFE WOULD BE IF STAYING
ALONE.
Instructions:
1. Go page 51 in your student book.
2. Read the article and answer the questions.
3. Match column a with column b.
4. Listen and underline the correct answer.
5. Complete the sentences with the prepositions in the box.
Debra was/ wasn’t angry.
The shark was/wasn’t interest in debra.
I am worried about my future.
I am scared of snakes.
ACTIVITY 3: GUIDING STRUCTURES
AND FUNCTIONS.
Instructions:
1. Read the article and order the sentences about the article in
pg. 52
2. Check on simple past grammar section.
3. Complete the sentences with simple past.
4. Practice pronunciation of some verbs
5. Talk to your partners about and anecdote ( a special event that
might have happened to you)
ACTIVITY 4: I WANT TO BE ALONE.
PURPOSE: TO DESCRIBE HOW LIFE WOULD BE IF STAYING
ALONE.

Simple past
Positive: I worked.
Negative: I didn’t work.
Question: did you work yesterday?
