Executive Summary
Today human begins work with the time. The various activities to be performed on generally
prescribed on the basis of time factor. Thus time is consider to be a fresher factor in every
walk of life. Now-days we find no person without a wrist watch and a home without a clock.
Thus the watches have become almost a necessity for human begins, to whichever economic
class they belong. This paper contest the consumer behavior and brand preference while
selecting the wristwatch. In this study we wanted to find out the thought process in consumer
mind about choosing a watch brand. What a consumer think about a wristwatch, what
personality can show a person’s by wearing a wristwatch. What are the main elements of
choosing a watch, why this element are matter to them. We used primary data to survey,
secondary data for needed information about wristwatch, and a round table conversation to
find out face to face analyses. We find out various factors and also some information which
can help Wristwatch Company to satisfy their target consumer and can fulfilled the consumer
need and want.

Chapter-1
1.1 Introduction
People have always had a fascination with observing the passing of time. From prehistoric
man to the modern day technology craze, the watch world has seen an abundant amount of
different types of devices used to measure time. A watch is a timepiece intended to be carried
or worn by a person. It is designed to keep working despite the motions caused by the persons
activities. A wristwatch is designed to be worn around the wrist, attached by a watch strap or
other types of bracelet.
History of wristwatch:
The first wristwatch was created in 1812, to fit the wrist of the queen of Naples.
Wristwatches were primarily worn by women as bracelets. During the first world war in 18s
the wristwatch was used in man watch. In 1818s there were pocket watch for man, but in war
that meant to keep an eye on the time, soldiers could not fully carry all of their equipment. To
keep their hands free thy were given wristwatches called trancn watches. In 1880 clearly a
market for men’s wristwatches was coming into being at the time. Officers in British Army
began using wristwatches. In 1950, the first generations of electric power watches. These
kept time with a balance wheel powered by a solenoid. In 1959 quartz watch was invented,
which was powered by a battery and kept time with balance. In 2010 developments happened
in smart watch which are elaborate computer like electronic devices designed to be worn on a
wrist.
Types of wristwatches:
A watch showcases the wearer’s personality. It can also convey his taste, wealth, and even
humor. Here are some different types of watch for different peoples, Analog watch watches
have displays with a miniature clock-face with 12 hours, and hour hand, and a minute hand,
there also have a second hand. There are analog watches with traditional numbers and analog
watches with Roman numbers. Digital watch is a watch in which the hour, minutes and
sometimes seconds are indicated by digits, rather than by hands on a dial. Diving watch is a
watch designed for underwater diving that features, water resistance also measurement device
that can measure the water gravity. Dress watch is more known as fissionable watches.
Quartz watches is powered by an electronic oscillator synchronized by quartz crystal.
Mechanical watch is a watch that uses a mechanism to measure the passage of time, as
opposed to modern quartz watches which function electronically. Pilot watch gracing the
wrist of pilots, these aviation timepieces has reached the apex of the ideal fusion of style and
durability. Field watch were designed for officers who needed to coordinate attacks tell time
at night, and sport a wristwatch that could withstand the rigors of battle, all while still looking
good. Smart watch is a electronic watch which have touch screens, support apps, and etc.
luxury watch is made by expensive materials, as like ordinary watch.

1.2 Objective of the study
In this study we wanted to find out the thought process in consumer mind about choosing a
watch brand. What a consumer think about a wristwatch, what personality can show a
person’s by wearing a wristwatch. What are the main elements of choosing a watch, why this
element are matter to them. We survey because we wanted to find out what a watch can carry
about a person.
1.3 Methodology of the study
We used primary data to find out the study. We survey 100 people using a questioner. We
also used a round table conversation with 10 people, by asking some question about watch
and personality in a person’s psychology. We also use secondary data to find out about
wristwatch, history of wristwatch, types of wristwatch.
1.4 Limitation of the study
We used limited options in our survey questioner. Which make people confused to choose
their actual needed information to describe. In round table conversation people feel
uncomfortable for face to face talking and answering those questions.

Analysis and finding
Out of 100 people, 50% people believed that a watch can carry a humans personality.
Strongly agree 35%, and other 6% people did not believed that, 9% strongly disagreed
20% people choice their watch by design categories. 30% people select brand name, 40%
focused on services quality. And 10% people select the price of a watch.

65% people think that a wristwatch is a luxury products. Other 35% people ans negative.
22% people use wristwatch for showing their personality, 19% people following the fashion,
17% people use a wristwatch foe hobby, 42% people for self style .
We give 3 brand name options and 1 other brand name option.

Round table conversation
After doing our survey we arranged a round table to know about, what a consumer or a
person think about watch, what a consumer search when he or she want to purchase a watch.
And why they chose it. The round table happen among ten person. After doing the round
table talk our findings and and analysis is,
The most used brands are, fastrack, titan, quartz and tissot.A person’s lowest budged is 2000
and the highest budged is 15000 for buy a wristwatch. A consumer first need is quality,
second need is design and then the brand name of a wristwatch. Consumer also wants to use
water proof wristwatch. They think of coral a watch always carries human personality.
And at the last time we ask our main question, they are, which brand they wish to use in their
life? If anyone wearing a wristwatch in front of you, what you think about the person?
The minimum answer of the first question was they wish to use Rolex brand wristwatch. And
when they saw any person who wearing that brand, they will think that person has high
personality and very attractive, stylish and also rich. So these are the analyzing and finding
from our round table conversation.

Recommendation and conclusion
3.1 Recommendation
After Analysis and finding we recommend that, a person wear wristwatch for hobby. A
person’s main elements of choosing a watch is quality, then design. A person wanted to wear
a wristwatch with his or her own choice, that what he or she wants most. There we find out
some issues about wristwatch that can might help wristwatch’s company to understand about
their needed consumer and what s their behaviors for choosing a wristwatch. Here are some
issues we give that company must focus on their product quality. Because consumer want
best feature in their needed and choosing product. Second comment is company have to
respect their consumer in product wise , because most of the people wear wristwatch for their
own hobby, and its show what is their status that people wanted to show to the society and
what they follow.
3.2 Conclusion
In conclusion we wanted to say that , price doesn’t matter for choosing a wristwatch. People
want best quality in their wristwatch, like durability, color, water register. People need that a
wristwatch can show about their personality, that what they are, what is their status, what
they follow.

  • 3. 3 Executive Summary Today human begins work with the time. The various activities to be performed on generally prescribed on the basis of time factor. Thus time is consider to be a fresher factor in every walk of life. Now-days we find no person without a wrist watch and a home without a clock. Thus the watches have become almost a necessity for human begins, to whichever economic class they belong. This paper contest the consumer behavior and brand preference while selecting the wristwatch. In this study we wanted to find out the thought process in consumer mind about choosing a watch brand. What a consumer think about a wristwatch, what personality can show a person’s by wearing a wristwatch. What are the main elements of choosing a watch, why this element are matter to them. We used primary data to survey, secondary data for needed information about wristwatch, and a round table conversation to find out face to face analyses. We find out various factors and also some information which can help Wristwatch Company to satisfy their target consumer and can fulfilled the consumer need and want.
  • 4. 4 Chapter-1 1.1 Introduction People have always had a fascination with observing the passing of time. From prehistoric man to the modern day technology craze, the watch world has seen an abundant amount of different types of devices used to measure time. A watch is a timepiece intended to be carried or worn by a person. It is designed to keep working despite the motions caused by the persons activities. A wristwatch is designed to be worn around the wrist, attached by a watch strap or other types of bracelet. History of wristwatch: The first wristwatch was created in 1812, to fit the wrist of the queen of Naples. Wristwatches were primarily worn by women as bracelets. During the first world war in 18s the wristwatch was used in man watch. In 1818s there were pocket watch for man, but in war that meant to keep an eye on the time, soldiers could not fully carry all of their equipment. To keep their hands free thy were given wristwatches called trancn watches. In 1880 clearly a market for men’s wristwatches was coming into being at the time. Officers in British Army began using wristwatches. In 1950, the first generations of electric power watches. These kept time with a balance wheel powered by a solenoid. In 1959 quartz watch was invented, which was powered by a battery and kept time with balance. In 2010 developments happened in smart watch which are elaborate computer like electronic devices designed to be worn on a wrist. Types of wristwatches: A watch showcases the wearer’s personality. It can also convey his taste, wealth, and even humor. Here are some different types of watch for different peoples, Analog watch watches have displays with a miniature clock-face with 12 hours, and hour hand, and a minute hand, there also have a second hand. There are analog watches with traditional numbers and analog watches with Roman numbers. Digital watch is a watch in which the hour, minutes and sometimes seconds are indicated by digits, rather than by hands on a dial. Diving watch is a watch designed for underwater diving that features, water resistance also measurement device that can measure the water gravity. Dress watch is more known as fissionable watches. Quartz watches is powered by an electronic oscillator synchronized by quartz crystal. Mechanical watch is a watch that uses a mechanism to measure the passage of time, as opposed to modern quartz watches which function electronically. Pilot watch gracing the wrist of pilots, these aviation timepieces has reached the apex of the ideal fusion of style and durability. Field watch were designed for officers who needed to coordinate attacks tell time at night, and sport a wristwatch that could withstand the rigors of battle, all while still looking good. Smart watch is a electronic watch which have touch screens, support apps, and etc. luxury watch is made by expensive materials, as like ordinary watch.
  • 5. 5 1.2 Objective of the study In this study we wanted to find out the thought process in consumer mind about choosing a watch brand. What a consumer think about a wristwatch, what personality can show a person’s by wearing a wristwatch. What are the main elements of choosing a watch, why this element are matter to them. We survey because we wanted to find out what a watch can carry about a person. 1.3 Methodology of the study We used primary data to find out the study. We survey 100 people using a questioner. We also used a round table conversation with 10 people, by asking some question about watch and personality in a person’s psychology. We also use secondary data to find out about wristwatch, history of wristwatch, types of wristwatch. 1.4 Limitation of the study We used limited options in our survey questioner. Which make people confused to choose their actual needed information to describe. In round table conversation people feel uncomfortable for face to face talking and answering those questions.
  • 6. 6 Chapter-2 Analysis and finding Out of 100 people, 50% people believed that a watch can carry a humans personality. Strongly agree 35%, and other 6% people did not believed that, 9% strongly disagreed 20% people choice their watch by design categories. 30% people select brand name, 40% focused on services quality.   • 10. 10 Round table conversation After doing our survey we arranged a round table to know about, what a consumer or a person think about watch, what a consumer search when he or she want to purchase a watch. And why they chose it. The round table happen among ten person. After doing the round table talk our findings and and analysis is, The most used brands are, fastrack, titan, quartz and tissot.A person’s lowest budged is 2000 and the highest budged is 15000 for buy a wristwatch. A consumer first need is quality, second need is design and then the brand name of a wristwatch. Consumer also wants to use water proof wristwatch. They think of coral a watch always carries human personality. And at the last time we ask our main question, they are, which brand they wish to use in their life? If anyone wearing a wristwatch in front of you, what you think about the person? The minimum answer of the first question was they wish to use Rolex brand wristwatch. And when they saw any person who wearing that brand, they will think that person has high personality and very attractive, stylish and also rich. So these are the analyzing and finding from our round table conversation.
  • 11. 11 Chapter-3 Recommendation and conclusion 3.1 Recommendation After Analysis and finding we recommend that, a person wear wristwatch for hobby. A person’s main elements of choosing a watch is quality, then design. A person wanted to wear a wristwatch with his or her own choice, that what he or she wants most. There we find out some issues about wristwatch that can might help wristwatch’s company to understand about their needed consumer and what s their behaviors for choosing a wristwatch. Here are some issues we give that company must focus on their product quality. Because consumer want best feature in their needed and choosing product. Second comment is company have to respect their consumer in product wise , because most of the people wear wristwatch for their own hobby, and its show what is their status that people wanted to show to the society and what they follow. 3.2 Conclusion In conclusion we wanted to say that , price doesn’t matter for choosing a wristwatch. People want best quality in their wristwatch, like durability, color, water register. People need that a wristwatch can show about their personality, that what they are, what is their status, what they follow. Thank you.
