upper parts of the thighs and behind the penis.
• it holds and protect the testicles.
• it is divided into two compartments eachof which contains:
1:testis, 1: Epididymis, Testicular end of a spermatic cord.
• it also contains numerous nerves, blood vessels and smooth muscles.
• connected with pelvic cavity through the inguinal canal.

5. Internal Genital Organs
Testis:
Testis are male gonads which are situated outside the body in a sac
called scrotum.
Weight: it’s weight is 25 gm.
Shape : oval shape
Temperature: The temperature of scrotal sac is 2-5 C less than body
temperature.
6. Lobules
• Each testis is divided into 200-300 lobules.
• Each lobule contain 2-4 seminiferous tubules.
Seminiferous Tubules
• these are the coiled tubule in testes in which spermatogenesistakes place.
The length of Seminiferous Tubules is 60-80cm.
7.
8. Epididymis
• These are coiled ducts present on the backside of the testes.
• Its function is the storage and transport of sperm.
• Here the sperms are nourished and gain the ability of swimming.
VasDeference
• It is tube which runs from the epididymis to urethra.
• It carries sperm from epididymis to urethra.
9. AccessoryGlands
Seminal Vesicles
it is a pair of exocrine gland in male reproductive system.it secretes
many componentsof semen during ejaculation.
Secretion:
Seminal vesicle secretesan alkaline fluid which contains fructose
sugar , ascorbic acid, coagulative enzymes and other substance.
Prostate Gland

18. Sperm(Spermatozoa)
It is a small haploid cell which consistsof the following parts:
• Head
• Neck
• Mid piece
• Tail
Head :
1. it is broadest part of sperm , about 4-5um long and 3um wide.
2. it contains the structures i.e nucleus, acrosome and flagellar
basal body.
19. • Nucleus fills most of the head and contain haploid chromosomes.
Acrosome:
It is a lysosome in the form of a thin cap covering the upper
half of nucleus.it contains an enzymes (hyaluronidase) which
are later used to penetrate the egg.
Neck :
It is a very short and contain a pair of centrioles.
Mid piece:
It is cylindrical and thickest part of sperm .
it contains numerous mitochondria which provide ATP for the
movement of sperm in female reproductive tract .
