CO2 capture from large stationary sources is considered as one of the most promising technologies to mitigate CO2 emissions in
atmosphere and reduce global warming. In recent years a lot of research’s and study’s has been done about capturing of CO2 with amine’s like MDEA, DEA, DIPA, MEA, TEA, … in natural gas sweetening process. In this paper we used Aspen HYSYS software to simulate natural gas sweetening process and capture CO2 gas in absorption tower with MDEA amine inside of Piperazine. With MDEA and Piperazine, we captured CO2 and HSS gasses from natural gas completely.
Our results show that with 0.0025 of Piperazine and 0.1000 of MDEA in Lean Amine stream, we can produce sweet gas with no any CO2 and H2S gasses. Notable in this simulation is that we used low molar flow for natural gas stream in to below of absorption tower and high molar flow for lean amine stream in to top of absorption tower to get maximum mass transfer in the tower.

ABSTRACT
CO2 capture from large stationary sources is considered as one of the most promising technologies to mitigate CO2 emissions in
atmosphere and reduce global warming. In recent years a lot of research’s and study’s has been done about capturing of CO2 with
amine’s like MDEA, DEA, DIPA, MEA, TEA, … in natural gas sweetening process. In this paper we used Aspen HYSYS software to
simulate natural gas sweetening process and capture CO2 gas in absorption tower with MDEA amine inside of Piperazine. With
MDEA and Piperazine, we captured CO2 and HSS gasses from natural gas completely.
Our results show that with 0.0025 of Piperazine and 0.1000 of MDEA in Lean Amine stream, we can produce sweet gas with no
any CO2 and H2S gasses. Notable in this simulation is that we used low molar flow for natural gas stream in to below of absorption
tower and high molar flow for lean amine stream in to top of absorption tower to get maximum mass transfer in the tower.
