Make-up kit
Base: Apply Krylon Full Coverage foundation
and blend in well. Coat heavy layers on the skin
before setting with loose powder to seal in the
base. Match the foundation to the neck for even
coverage.
Cheeks: Blend soft peach blush with pink on
the cheeks and onto the jaw line to frame the
face and then contour.
Eyes: Coat eyelids in matte shades of purple,
black and orange and blend well. On the lower
lid add hints of blue, purple and black, with
dramatic lashes and a hint of gold as a
highlighter.
Lips: Apply sleek pink lipstick with clear gloss
on top and blend in well.
Hair: Create a side parting with princess hair
loops. Gather hair into a big chignon and set
dupatta on top. Add a puff to one side for a
chic touch, then set the Jewellery with a nose
ring, tikka and jhoomar for statement glamour.
Sadia’s top tip
Create dramatic eyes
with vibrant colours and
false lashes
Key trends:
The 21st century bride always has a
fascination to experiment with bold, bright
colours and is on the search for more dramatic
styles. Although the traditional look still needs
to be taken into account, you have to find the
right balance between her personal style, skin
tone and personality. The finer details are what
matter most so expect to see a strong trend
with heavy, dramatic eyes and striking lip
colours with lots of emphasis on lashes.
Accentuate the eyes in a variation of colours
such as grey, turquoise, purple and pinks so
you can achieve a modern looking bride but
still adding hints of her culture in a more
subtle way. Create big, bold hairstyles, full of
volume, even when creating a classic bridal
bun. To complete the look, heavy jewellery is a
must so add jhoomars and an elegant nose ring.
Tips:
Set the skin with moisturiser and blend the
foundation in well. If skin is oily than always
use anti shiner and if natural than use a
primer. Strike the right balance with the eyes.
Start by blending eye shadow on the eyes to
achieve smooth and defined results. If the
bride has big eyes than use thick liner, and for
small eyes use thin liner and extend eye
shadow to frame and widen.
