We are Closing the Achievement Gap Through College
Nationally, only 9% of low-income students earn a four-year college
degree by age 25, which is 8 times less than their peers from high-
income families.
15. More than 80% of students who participate in STEM-focused
apprenticeships express interest in a STEM career, compared
to only one-third of 8th grade students nationally.

Citizen Schools alumni enroll in college at the same rate as students in the U.S. from all income levels and at a rate 1.5 times higher than for their low-income peers. The graduation rate is more than double the national rate for low-income students.
