This project implements SRI techniques in Laos across three provinces - Vientiane, Khammouan, and Savannaketh - with the goal of reaching more farmers each year. In the first year (2015), 28 farmer participatory research areas reached 718 total farmers. By 2017, the number of areas had increased to 82, reaching over 2,000 total farmers. The project uses a farmer field school approach and trains farmer trainers to disseminate SRI techniques. It also aims to link participating farmer groups to the Lao agriculture development system and farmer networks to promote sustainability of SRI in Laos.

6. SRI exchange for Laos
 Inside the country: In 2017 and 2018 we conducted a national
workshop in Vientiane. We exchanged knowledge and experience about
SRI-LMB activities among projects in Laos such as: Save and Grow
Project and SRI in Luangprabang and Xiengkhuang provinces.
 In September, 2018, we conducted a field trip to Phaxay district,
Xiengkhuang Province to visit the Save and Grow Project and joined the
Farmer Field School meeting.
 Outside the country: In April 2017 we attended the Regional
Workshop of SRI-LMB and shared knowledge and experiences with people
from other countries associated with the SRI-LMB project.
