MALA COMMUNITY FITNESS PROJECT aims to make Mala, a block panchayat of Kerala state India’s First ‘100% Fitness Literate Panchayat’. This project is initiated by the Sports & Management Research Institute (SMRI), India's premier sports research, education, consultancy and training institute and Holy Grace Group of Institutions, Mala, Thrissur Kerala.

OUR PLAN

• On May 31, 2024, we aim to declare
Mala as India’s first ‘100% Fitness
Literate Panchayat’.

3. 1.MALATHON:

MALATHON, a 5 km mass run will be conducted every
first Saturday at 7.00 am starting from Holy Grace
Group of Institutions. As part of encouraging
residents of MALA to follow an active lifestyle free
coaching of Yoga, Aerobics, Pilates, Freakothon and
Zumba will be conducted during the MALATHON.
It is designed to engage and empower the vibrant
Mala community. It will revolutionize fitness by
combining competition and fun. This league offers
exciting opportunities for athletes to enhance their
skills and make exercise a thrilling experience.

4. 1. MALATHON

6. 2. MALA MY MARATHON CHALLENGE
(3M CHALLENGE)
Participants have to run a MARATHON (42.2 km)
every month from this September/October.
Participants can Run/Walk/Jog at their own pace.
Can take One day, One Week or One month to
complete a marathon. This is a promise to live a
healthy life, for you, your family and your
community

7. 3. MALA SPORTS FACILITY MAP
We will identify various playgrounds of
public and private ownership in MALA and
map them properly for public use

8. 4. FITNESS AWARENESS CAMPAINGS
Conduct door-to-door fitness awareness campaigns to invite
residents to participate in mass workouts. Our volunteers will
conduct door to door fitness awareness campaign with the
support of ward councillors/Health Inspectors

9. 5. MASS WORKOUTS
Conduct mass yoga/aerobics/zumba/
Pilates or any other suitable workouts at
the selected venues every Saturday to
ensure Maximum Sports Participation in the
Panchayat to ensure that a minimum of
75% of the total residents aged between 6
and 60 is participating in a minimum of 60%
of the activities.
