This is under the auspices of the Jonathan Edwards Center at Yale University. My primary supervisors were
Dr. Ariaan Neele (Yale), Dr. Mark Jones, and Dr. Pieter DeVries. My title is, ‘A Heavenly Directory:’ Trinitarian
Piety, Public Worship, and a Reassessment of John Owen’s Theology, which is now published with Vandenhoeck &
Ruprecht in their Reformed Historical Theology series. This research included extensive reading in Latin
Reformed orthodox theology, including Owen, Wollebius, Voetius, Mastricht, Hoornbeeck, Ussher, Sibbes,
Cloppenburg, and others.

I spend considerable time on the phone and in person mentoring candidates for the ministry. The committee
regularly assigned candidates with weak exams to myself on one or two other members of the committee to
provide guidance and direction. In addition, I was tasked with revising the written theological exam for the
Presbytery. I completed this task by collecting theological exams from the PCA General Assembly, multiple
presbyteries in the denomination, and from OPC presbyteries and systematizing the best of this material as
well as adding some of my own. This exam was adopted with minor modifications in early 2012.
