Accomplishments
Wholesaler Forecasting system Project
• Developed 12 COBOL CICS programs allowing the client to view a 31-week "window" of Forecasted
Sales data for review.
• Users could adjust the forecasted amounts and thus affect production and distribution of product.
• System produced on-line reports in addition to "spawning" batch report requests
Monthly Warehouse Distribution system Project
• Developed 20 programs allowing the client to determine stock levels of product based on actual and
forecasted sales
• System interfaced with the Wholesaler Forecasting system (above) and influenced production levels
Overall Result: Prior Warehouse / Production / Distribution methods were based on “gut feel” causing
sales losses in some areas due to insufficient stock, and BDL losses in others due to overstock and
associated “dated” Product. Systems provided more realistic Production / Distribution levels based on
historical Sales and Trending data by geographic area
