• Get educated.
• Ditch the “not my kid”
mentality.
• Have “the talk” OFTEN.
• Say NO to drugs and
alcohol for your kids. Zero
tolerance.
• Practice prevention but
recognize the signs and
symptoms of substance
use.
• Talk to neighbors, friends,
family, teachers, coaches,
counselors.
• Share the situation with
others – chances are they
are familiar and can help.
• Tap this network – the ones
on stage.
• Drug test, if you’re unsure.
• Take care of yourself and
other family members.
• Be prepared for the
journey.
