The late Alex Yaw Karikari came into this world on the 7th of July in 1993
at Akim Wenchi, a district of Akim Oda in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
He was the eldest among three strong sons born to Mr. Stephen Tutu
Minta and Adelaide Abena Manfowaa, both of whom are now fondly
His educational journey began at Akim Wenchi, where he attended Pokua
Memorial Academy, Happy Home Academy, and later Salvation Army
Junior High School (JHS). In the year 2010, during his second year in JHS,
he was relocated to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region by one of his uncles,
Mr. Kwabena Manu.
4. From the moment of his birth until the day of the unfortunate incident,
Alex remained a paragon of humility. Countless individuals can attest
to his humble nature. He was known for his honesty, tranquility,
diligence, loyalty, and respect for people of all ages. This humility was
exemplified in his endearing habit of addressing elders as "Maa" or
The pain we feel today is immeasurable, as we bid farewell to our
beloved child on the 28th of September 2023 when he passed away at
the '37 Military Hospital.' Though it is incredibly challenging, we take
solace in the belief that God's love for him is boundless. Our brothers,
uncles, grandmothers, students, loved ones, and the entire family are
shedding tears of grief.
