During my time at Cumberland Valley National Bank I was hired to take over their Loan
Review Function by a recommendation of the ex Director of the Department of Kentucky
Financial Institutions, William R Miller. Mr. Miller had trained me for Loan Review
while I worked at London Bank and Trust.

2. I was able to change the culture at Cumberland Valley National Bank from a poor
performing loan grading system to a very successful outcome. I received many
compliments from PBS for this initiative.
I also headed up the implementation of the Appraisal Review function at the bank. This
function also has been received very favorable remarks from PBS and the OCC as one of
the best functions they have seen in banks of our size.
Due to some lack of control in the underwriting of loans I was also asked to Head up the
Credit Analysis Department at the Bank which consisted of three Credit Analyst. Many
changes were made to improve consistency. I ensured that the final analysis be based on
facts of past financial performances of the businesses analyzed. This function has also
been mentioned by the regulators and PBS as a very well run machine.
