This document provides a checklist of 14 required documents for the Express Entry Stage 1 application process in Canada. 4 Proof of Language Proficiency – IELTS (General) results for principal applicant and Spouse [if claiming points]. Note:
Language test results may not be older than 2 years.

5 Work Experience
For the principal applicant only and spouse (if employed) ( if applicable):
Letters of reference of all companies.
Offer letters, work contracts, appointments, transfer letters etc.
Handful of pay stubs and tax documents from each year of employment and Bank statement.

3. 6 Educational Credential Assessment report
For the principal applicant and Spouse (if claiming points). Original
7 Education
For the principal applicant and Spouse (if applicable):
Secondary Education documents: certification of completion of secondary school
Post-secondary education documents: vocational or technical certificate or diploma
College or University documents: certification of completion and/or graduation degree, diploma or
certificate issued by the college or university
Trade/Apprenticeship documents: certificates and evidence of apprenticeship i.e. apprenticeship contract
Professional qualification certificates
Note: Transcripts must accompany all tertiary level education documents.

4. 8 Settlement Funds : Provide proof of unencumbered funds available for settlement in Canada: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp
- Current bank certification letter; or
- Evidence of savings balance; or
- Fixed or time deposit statements

9 Photo Requirements: Supply one photo of each member of your family and yourself.

10 Processing Fee: The fee will total as follows: CAD850 for each adult included in your application &
CAD230 for each child included in your application
Example: a family of 2 adults and one child would have the amount of CAD1,930.00
You must obtain a Credit Card.
5. 11 Right of Permanent Residence Fee : You must obtain a Credit Card. The fee will total as follows:
- CAD515 for each adult included in your application
- No fees for children
- You must obtain a Credit Card.
12 Biometrics Fees: CAD85 for each adult aged 14 and above.
13 Police Certificates – Each person over the age of 18 must provide a police clearance certificate for each
country they have lived in for 6 months or more cumulatively post age of 18
