3. PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION
Conventional medicine: A 32.5 Artificial tear
and contact lens solution

4. PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION
ECO TEARS is a lubricating formulation
similar to normal tears, containing a mild
sensitizing preservative .

5. PHARMACODYNAMIC PROPERTIES
The pharmacological effect of the active
substance, carboxymethylcellulose is
not receptors mediated, but is due to
it's property as viscosity enhancer
resulting in increasing the retention
time of ECO TEARS

6. PHARMACOKINETIC PROPERTIES
Due to it's high molecular weight
carboxymethylcellulose sodium is unlikely to
penetrate the cornea

7. INDICATIONS
ECO TEARS is used as a lubricant to relieve
irritation & discomfort due to dryness of the
eye or due to exposure to wind or sun

8. CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
ECO TEARS should not be used in infants &
children under 3 years

9. WARNINGS
If eye pain, changes in vision, continued redness
or irritation of the eye is experienced, or if the
condition worsens or persists more than 72 hours
discontinue use & consult the physician.

Not known.

11. PREGNANCY & LACTATION
Safe use during pregnancy &
lactation has not been established

12. DOSAGE & DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Unless otherwise prescribed, instill 1 drop in the
affected eye(s) 4 times a day or as needed

SIDE EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
The following adverse drug reactions were reported with
ECO TEARS; the most frequently reported treatment-
related undesirable effect was burning (approximately 2%)

16. SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
■ To avoid contamination, do not touch tip
of the container to any surface and avoid
direct contact with the eye.
■ Concomitant ocular medication should
be administered 15 minutes prior to the
installation of ECO TEARS

17. KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSE &
PARTICULARS OF IT'S TREATMENT
No toxic side effects from systemic overdose
are expected. Refer to " Side effects & special
precautions." Treatment is symptomatic and
supportive.

STORAGE CONDITIONS
• Store in a cool, dark place. To avoid contamination of
the solution keep container tightly closed.
• Do not touch the nozzle tip or other dispensing tip to
any surface since this may contaminate the solution
• Do not use more than 30 days after opening.
• Contents are sterile if the seal is intact.
• Keep out of reach of children.
