Acceptance and qualification
Injection molding equipment with clamping forces ran-
ging from 1100 to 5000 kN is available at our sites for
the testing of molds.We also install customer equipment
on our premises to optimize the production process. We
validate the equipment and the mold according to custo-
mer specifications or internal standards by conducting a
capability analysis over several hours, taking and analy-
zing samples. The infrastructure and available space at
our locations make them an ideal venue for intensive
customer training.

TURNKEY PRODUCTION SYSTEMS
The entire production system from a single source
FOBOHA has established itself as a specialist
for complete production systems. The injection
molding machine is purchased either directly by
the customer or by FOBOHA. Subsequently, we
build the molds and – if required – we can offer
the associated automation. After optimizing the
entire process, we supply the customer with a
turnkey system in which the machine, mold and
automation are all perfectly matched.
We develop and build the molds, and in some cases also
the handling equipment, ourselves. For other system
components we work together with longstanding part-

for the production of plastic multi-component
parts. We’ve been developing and building mul-
ti-component molds for over 40 years, applying
standard technologies such as rotary table tech-
nology, index technology and the core retracti-
on technique. Foboha has led the industry in de-
veloping stack-turning and cube technologies.
For customers with new product ideas incorporating
multiple varieties of plastic, FOBOHA is the provider of
choice, worldwide. Drawing on our years of experience,
we develop production solutions based on our custo-
mers’ needs and we have the ability to compare and as-
sess the capabilities of the various technologies.

STACK-TURNING MOLDS / CUBE MOLDS
Production of highly complex parts on a single machine.
With the FOBOHA stack-turning technology,
parts are processed within the turning system at
different levels. So it is possible to inject parts
on both levels in the same production step and
eject the finished parts at the available station.
The next turn (2 x 180° or 4 x 90°) moves the
new substrates to the newly freed processing
station.
Advantages of the stack-turning technology:
■ Highly complex parts can be produced on a
single machine
■ The clamping force of the machine can
be halved
■ Cavities can be doubled
■ Production cycles are significantly shorter
FOBOHA Double Cube Technology
The innovative FOBOHA Double Cube System combines
two synchronized counter-rotating cubes between the
two halves of the mold. In principle, two separate molds
operate within a single piece of equipment.
Simultaneous work processes take place at three parting
lines in 90° steps.
FOBOHA Reversecube
Two thermally separated cube halves rotate by 90 de-
grees toward each other which allows the simultaneous
processing of different materials with different proces-
sing temperature requirements.
The Reversecube is capable of 20% more output, has a
40% shorter cycle time and requires only 60% space of
a conventional system which offers a considerable cost
reduction.

FOBOHA Compactcube Technology
The Compactcube mold system can be used on slightly
modified standard machines in the low to medium clam-
ping force range. The compactcube is based on the cube
technology and offers cycle advantages of up to 40%
compared to simple stack turning technology.
In-mold-assembly
In-mold-assembly (IMA) is a special variant of the cube
technology. In this technique, the four stations of the
cube are used in a special sequence. Two different parts
are injected at the same time at station 1. At station 2,
high-precision assembly can be carried out both within
and outside the system.The parts are overmolded at sta-
tion 3, then removed or ejected at station 4.

Rotary Table
FOBOHA rotary tables provide a solid base for any mul-
ti-component mold. The system is driven hydraulically or
by servomotor. Indexing in the final position guarantees
high precision of repetition and minimal wear on the ro-
tary table and mold. Besides the basic equipment, the
system offers many options for industrializing even so-
phisticated applications efficiently and robustly.
Index Turning Systems
FOBOHA index turning systems are designed for rapid
turning times and maximum coolant water flow, making
them ideal for the production of plastic parts overmolded
on both sides. The systems are also exceptional in terms
of their robust construction.
Linear Transfer Systems
Linear transfer technology makes efficient use of the
available mold installation space in the injection molding
equipment. Especially when multiple injection stations
are required, traditional turning systems soon reach their
limits because of the space required by rotary transport
of the substrate.
Stack Turning Rotary Units
FOBOHA stack turning rotary units are the basis of our
stack turning and cube technologies. The patented tur-
ning units allow the middle block of a stack turning
mold or cube mold to be held at the top and bottom.
This balances any torque during placement and
removal of the mold as well as centrifugal forces
arising during turning and braking of the middle
block.The systems are actuated hydraulically or by
a servomotor.
