three parts:
The Commandments, setting forth the
holy will of God (exodux20:1-26)
The Judgements or the rules governing
social life (exodus 21:1-24:11); and
The Ordinances or the rules having to do

Relational Care
MISSION OF GOD
Our Vocation arises from our CONVICTION that God invites us to share in His
relational Care for the world
We care for young people because of Who WE ARE that is , a people called by
God to share in HIS mission
48. Relationship with God
Love of God is RELATIONAL- relationship with Jesus
Christ as Savior , Lord and friend
Our Involvement with young people is an
EXPRESSION of God`s desire to be in relationship
with young people
56. Church
Demographics

or
Longevity of the church
Analyze our Church
Define age groups in the church
Senior Citizens----------%
Elders ---------------------%
Youth----------------------%
Children-------------------%
57. Relationship and Church
Young people, responding to the relationship offered
by Christ, must eventually find SUPPORT and
ENCOURAGEMENT through prayer and Worship
58. Care – As Support
Relational care is NOT a technique or method to deal
with youth crisis.
Care means we are a supportive FRIEND or MENTOR
when young people need one; to be AVAILABLE when
they begin to experience crisis
59. Care: Caring engenders Courage,
Courage leads to Faith
Caring becomes a
source of SELF –
CONFIDENCE and
COURAGE to bring
about change in their
lives
60. Care for God
Relational care leads to
REPENTANCE and
FAITH
Care for God emerges
as young people
FREELY RESPOND to
the care God has made
known in their own lives
61. Meeting Today`s Challenge
“How can we create a SAFE PLACE
where young people can HEAR others
tell their (life) stories, until they find
COURAGE to tell their own story
and, in this context, DISCOVER God`s Salvation story?”
62. Principles to Bridge the Generational
Difference
NOT an Generation GAP BUT an Generation
Difference
Understand that the world of young people is a
parents/our CALLING
It is never too EARLY ; it is never too LATE
IT is NOT going to be easy
Understanding generational differences equips us to
pass on the torch of FAITH
Understanding youth culture fosters CLOSENESS
63. How do we Develop Values
Age 1-7 years old
Area of Focus: Imprint by Observation( Pattern)
“ Children see, Children do”
Age of 8 – 13 years old
Areas of Focus: Modeling by Heroes (Identification)
“ I want to be like……”
Age 14 -20 years old
Area of Focus: Socialization by Peers (Significant others)
64. Key Aspect of VALUES
formation
AGREE on the Values
DEFINE the Values
DESCRIBE the Behavioral Norms
65. Jesus model : LUKE 24: 13-
35
IMPLICATION to Youth Evangelism:
The key question for today`s youth is “ IS IT REAL?”,
not “IS IT TRUE ?”
Their lives are more likely to be changed through the
heart than through the mind.
They need to See the incarnation of the gospel in
people`s lives more than to hear the proclamation of
the gospel through our words.
They need to experience the love of Jesus more than
they need to be informed that Jesus is love.
66. Empowering Young People
Our Goal is NOT to show young people how much we
know about youth culture.
Our goal is to study with them and learn their ideas
about their youth culture, and in the process, equip
them to critique their own youth culture.
67. The early Age- reach out?
Common Charactersistics of Children:

using their five senses, understand being loved as they
are cuddled
68. The early Age- reach out?
