• Transcript
• Attendance Report
• Recommendations (from Core teachers: Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies)
– This is dependent on what ECHS you are applying to.
7. WHAT DO I (PARENT) NEED TO DO?
• Apply by January 29 at 5:00
• Get STAAR scores and report cards from your counselor
• Get a transcript from your child’s middle school counselor
• Picture ID
• Only submit ONE application
• Take the application to the school and set up an appointment
• Prepare for interview (if applicable)
8. WHAT WILL MY CHILD HAVE TO DO?
• Magnet School Requirements paper
• Each school has different grade and testing requirements
• Go to/Call the school to check whether application is online or paper
• Watch your mail/email for summer workshops you must/can attend
• BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH ALL OF YOUR TEACHERS, COACHES, ETC.

Examples: Behavioral Based Interview Questions
• Tell me about a project at school that you successfully completed.
• Tell me about a time of how you resolved a conflict between you and a classmate
• when you disagreed with each other.
• Tell me about a time when you were on a team and one of your classmates was
• not pulling his/her weight. How did you handle it?
• Tell me about a specific goal and how you measured your progress for that goal.
• Describe a situation in which you failed to meet a deadline. What happened?
• Give an example in which you had to make a quick decision. What was your thought process?

• What superpower would you like to have? What would you do with it?
