2. Important Design Objects
We select, curate and share meaningful design
pieces
txt.ure is a new undertaking with a
solid design proposal.
Selecting
txt.ure is a brand that locates fragments
and narratives of our past, and expresses
them through its products and pieces
selection. We revisit forgotten
masterworks of popular design and
sophisticate them for the contemporary
user.
Curating
txt.ure is a curatorial endeavor that aims
at attaining the highest quality through
our expertise in design.
Sharing
We create a link between our past and our
modern spaces, while rescuing and
preserving the endangered techniques
that embody our products.
3. txt.03
Ø 64 × 77 cm
100 % Hand woven
in Tule natural fiber
Made in Mexico
4. The txt.03 –originally named in nahuatl,
icpalli (seating)– is a handmade tule seat,
made through a complex process that
requires the complete mastering of the
technique. txt.03 is one of the unique objects
that are still made with the same technology
than in the pre-Columbian era, a powerful
connection to the past. The forms of the txt.
03 hold a traditional DNA. txt.ure has honed
its style and scale to translate the icpalli into
the contemporary design language.
Nowadays, only a few artisans still weave
these seats, which shows the extent to which
this technique is in danger of disappearing.
The hope of txt.ure is to prevent this
extinction by sharing this type of work.
5.
We Collaborate
We are an authentic Collaborative Design
project. We are associates of our artisans
and apprentices. We established a fair
agreement with a 20% of our projects for
a r t i s a n s . B o t h p a r t s i nv e s t i n
infrastructure, this way we we can
improve our production capabilities as
well as we elevate the quality of life and
working conditions of those who work
with us in this social enterprise.
6. Creative Direction
Regina Pozo holds a bachelor degree in Art History
by Universidad Iberoamericana. She is an
independent curator interested in cultural
interpretations by means of design and architecture.
From 2008 to 2015, Pozo performed as Director and
Curator in Chief of Archivo Diseño y Arquitectura, a
private foundation dedicated to the collection,
exhibition and promotion of design through public
programming. Archivo quickly positioned itself as a
global and local referent of contemporary design
culture. This year, she founded her own projects
office and works as a consultant for various cultural
initiatives, platforms and studios. She is currently
enrolled in an Art History graduate degree with a
specialization in Curatorial Studies from UNAM
University.
