CBZH is proceeding with its plan to acquire a 31.22 percent interest in First Mutual Financial Holdings Limited (FMFL). The shares come from the state pension fund, National Social Security Agency’s (NSSA) stake in FMFL. In a June 2021 bidding, CBZ Holdings emerged as the highest bidder for FMFL shares for sale. Already holding 3.23 percent of FMFL, CBZH’s ownership will total 34.45 percent once the sale hurdles all regulatory requirements. The total purchase price is $6.356 billion in a combination of stock and cash purchases. CBZH sees promising synergistic opportunities in acquiring a significant interest in one of the country’s most extensive insurance and property companies, leading to enhanced value in CBZH. The acquisition further consolidates CBZH’s dominance in the financial markets.
