More good news from the latest jobs report by the U.S. Department of Labor. In February, over 300,000 jobs were added. This is the most since July 2016 and the 89th consecutive month of job gains. The unemployment rate remained at 4.1% for the 17th straight month making the labor market fuller than ever.

- 1. UNITED STATES JOBS REPORT FEBRUARY 2018 MONTHLY OVERVIEW The labor force participation rate increased at 0.3% to 63%. The employment-population ratio increased by 0.3% to 60.4%. Unemployment rate by race Unemployment rate by education The jobless rate for adult men was 3.7% and adult women was 3.8%. The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.1% for the 5th month in a row. 313,000 new jobs were created. Job gains occurred in construction, retail trade, professional and business services, manufacturing, financial activities, and mining. Average hourly wages increased by $0.04 to $26.75. JOB GAINS BY INDUSTRY Construction added 61,000 jobs. Retail trade added 50,000 jobs. Manufacturing added 31,000 jobs.
