3. INTRODUCTION.
▪ The act was passed in 1955.It has 11 chapters and 21 sections.
▪ Alcohol is used in the manufacturing of medicines and toilet
preparations.
▪ It can be also used as a euphoric drink.
▪ It is essential to control the issue and transport of alcohol .
4. OBJECTIVE.
▪ Levy and collection of duties.
▪ To prevent the misuse of alcohol.
▪ Curb all irregularities of previous act.
5. DEFINITIONS UNDER THE ACT.
▪ Alcohol - alcohol means ethyl alcohol of any strength and
purity having chemical composition C2H5OH.
▪ Dutiable goods it includes the medical and toilet preparations
specified in the schedule.
▪ Medicinal Preparation-It incudes the drugs used as a remedy
or prescription prepared for internal or external use of human
being or animal.
6. DEFINITIONS UNDER THE RULE.
▪ Bonded Manufactory-it means the premises or any part of the
premises approved and licensed for the manufacture and
storage of medicinal and toilet preparations containing
alcohol, opium, Indian hemp, and other narcotic drugs or
narcotics on which duty has not been paid.
▪ Non-Bonded Manufactory- it means the premises or any part
of the premises approved and licensed for the manufacture
and storage of medicinal and toilet preparation and storage of
medicinal and toilet preparation containing alcohol oplum,
Indian hemp, and other narcotic drugs or narcotic on which
duty has been paid.
7. LICENSING PROCEDURE.
▪ For the preparation containing alcohol andnarcotic
substances.
▪ Obtained from narcotic commissioner.

▪ Place of the bonded laboratory.
▪ Amount of capital proposed.
▪ Approximate date of starting production.
▪ Site of laboratory building.
