from Bucas. Easy for a human to close and open but difficult for your
horse to open!
SNAP-LOCK Snap-lock magnetic closure helps to keep your Bucas
rug secure on your horse. It eliminates the use of Hook and Loop
closures on the chest making it a more comfortable fit for your horse.
T-BAR T-bar front closures to help keep your Bucas
rug secure on your horse.
REFLECTIVE STRIPS Reflective strip placed on
the rug so that the animal can be seen when an
artificial light is shone on it.
RIP STOP OUTER Ripstop is the pattern of the
weave that makes the material less prone to
tearing. This weave helps prevent any rips that do
occur from spreading through the material.
BALLISTIC NYLON Ballistic Nylon means the
pattern of the weave that makes the material less
prone to tearing, it is a very tough fabric which is
very durable and less resistant to tearing.
SHOULDER DARTS Shoulder Darts helps to give your horse a more
tailored fit across the chest and shoulder area. These are a signature
design feature from Bucas.
POLYESTER TWILL Polyester Twill is the type of weave available
from Bucas. It is non waterproof and is usually used in stable
products and saddle pads.
OXFORD FABRIC Oxford Fabric is the type of weave available from
Bucas. It is non-waterproof and is usually used in stable products.
FILLET STRING Fillet string prevents our rug from flipping up your
horses back while they relax in their field. It also helps to secure your
rug on our horse.
BIG NECK Big Neck style is a great fit for stallions and breeds of
horses that tend to be wider across the shoulders like Connemaras,
Friesians, Andalusian and Draughts.

The Recuptex material is made from an extremely fine,
stainless steel mesh so it reflects the magnetic fields created
inside the body. This in turn stimulates blood circulation
and oxygen flow in the horse’s body and back, which heals
and reduces both swelling and inflammation and promotes
faster healing. It can be left on your horse for 24 hours, 7
days a week if necessary as it is NOT a magnetic rug, but it is
advised to slowly increase and monitor the use of the Bucas
Therapy rug when first used.
These therapeutic rugs are the ideal choice for helping
horses including those with back problems or who are a
little slow to warm up when riding. It also has been known
to accelerate the recovery process of some aliments, and
all of this in a natural environment. The Recuptex properties
cannot be washed out.
The silky Dermo-care lining wicks away moisture and keeps
the inside of the rug and the horse dry. This rug comes
with the patented Click’n Go front with magnetic Snap-lock
closure.
The optional Bucas Therapy Turnout Combi Neck offers
additional protection as well as the therapeutic properties of
the Therapy Turnouts.

The Power Turnout has a heat reflective aluminium inner coating
and the sun reflective silver outer which extends the temperature
range in which the Power Turnout can be used. It also comes
with Stay-dry, Anti-Bacterial lining which means the rug can be
put on a wet horse in the same way as a sweat rug. It will quickly
dry the horse and can be left on, thus avoiding any extra rug
changes.
The Power Turnout Big Neck is ideal for Stallions and breeds of
horses that tend to be wider across the shoulders like Friesians,
Andalusian and Draughts.

The Anniversary Turnout has a rip-stop outer, T-bar with Snap-
lock magnetic front closures and comes with a great selection
of insulations and linings. Available with Stay-dry lining or 150g
insulation and Silk-feel with 50g or 200g insulation. The Stay-dry
lining helps wick the moisture from your horse skin and so works
like a cooler rug helping to dry your horse faster. The Silk-feel lining

The Sun Shower has no lining only a mesh to help
circulate the air around underneath the rug. This is the
same mesh that is used in the Buzz-Off Rain rugs.
The Sun Shower Combi Neck can easily be attached to
the rug to provide additional protection, layer of outer
fabric only.

Available in 300g or 150g of insulation and
two different linings. The Stay-dry (SD) lining
can be put on a wet horse and the Stay-dry
material will wick the moisture from the horse’s
skin helping to dry the horse faster. The silky
Dermo-care (SF) lining, with wicking and Stay-
dry properties, will help to keep the horse dry
and the coat smooth and soft.

Bucas Therapy Range
The Recuptex material is made from an
extremely fine, stainless steel mesh so it reflects
the natural magnetic field created inside the
body. This in turn stimulates blood circulation
and oxygen flow in the horse’s body and back,
which heals and reduces both swelling and
inflammation and promotes faster healing. It
can be left on your horse for 24 hours, 7 days a
week if necessary as it is NOT a magnetic rug,
but it is advised to slowly increase and monitor
the use of the Recuptex Therapy rug when first
used.
These therapeutic rugs are the ideal choice
for helping horses including those with back
problems or who are a little slow to warm
up when riding. It also has been known to
accelerate the recovery process of some
aliments, and all of this in a natural
environment. The Recuptex properties
cannot be washed out.
Bucas Therapy Mesh Cooler rug is ideal for use
during the warmer months of spring/summer/
autumn. It comes with the same properties
as the regular Bucas Therapy but with a
lightweight mesh lower to help circulate the
air around the horse’s body during hot/humid
days.

Research has discovered that flies hate the
Zebra stripes as they find them confusing
and so steer clear of them! The flies get
disoriented by the contrast of the black and
white stripes so stay away when compared
to solid colours.
The Buzz-Off Full Neck Zebra rug provides
protection of the body and neck of the
horse. The neck helps protect the mane
from the flies and an elasticated brow band
helps keep the neck piece in place as the
horse grazes. The belly pad ensures that the
rug is kept in place and protects the belly of
the horse. And the large tail flap helps keep
those flies away from the horses tail.
The Buzz-Off Rain Zebra combines the
Zebra Full Neck fly sheet with a waterproof
upper to protect your horse. The integrated
neck and waterproof upper offers full body

Rug Wash
Bucas Rug Wash is ideal for use on waterproof
and breathable rugs and fabric. For full
guarantee on Bucas rugs, Bucas Rug Wash
should only be used. This special phosphate-
free wash is ideally suited for all waterproof and
water repellent rugs as well as other articles of
waterproof fabrics. Bucas Rug Wash is available
in 250ml and 5 litre bottles.

machine washed at a maximum of 30°C.

55. To provide your horse with the optimal fit, comfort and
protection that it deserves, it is important to select the most
appropriate rug for your horse.
When choosing a Bucas Rug, you must consider two factors:
• The measurement of the horse in relation to the size of rug that it needs
• The temperature range for which the rug you choose is most suited
The following instructions outline a step-by-step approach to measuring your horse
for a Bucas rug to provide an optimal fit, comfort and ease of movement.
Bucas recommends that the horse be measured from (A)
the centre point of the chest, over the high point of the
shoulder, and then to (B) the rear of the hind leg. When you
have the measurement, choose the nearest size from the
table below, or email: admin@bucas.com and we can post
a Bucas measure tape to you.
How to measure your horse!
Tips for Washing your Bucas Rug
•
Before placing your Bucas rug into the washing machine, close all hook and loop straps
as the rug can stick to it and any dirt that is in the machine will stick to it.
•
Clip up any surcingles so that they are not left flapping around in the machine.
•
If washing your Bucas cooler make sure to brush off any additional bedding or dirt off
the rug, this will help the rug come out even cleaner!
•
Don’t wash your Bucas products over 30°C as this may effect the performance of your
Bucas product!
•
Make sure to use the Bucas Rug Wash for washing all your Bucas products.
•
It’s always advisable to reproof your waterproof rugs after washing. Keep your
waterproof product functioning correctly by using Bucas Rug Conditioner after
washing.
•
If you have any small nicks or tears to your Bucas rug, we recommend using our Bucas
repair kit. This kit will provide you with the necessary aids to repair these small tears.

How to Measure your Dog
To measure your dog correctly for a Bucas dog rug place the measuring tape where
the collar usually sits on your dogs neck and measure the length of the dogs back to
the start of the tail. This measurement will give you the correct size when purchasing
your Bucas dog rug.

Bucas offers a 2 year warranty against any manufacturing or
material faults but you can extend it to 3 years on our Power
and Smartex range of rugs.
•
All you need is your proof of purchase, like your receipt and
the details from the label on the rug.
•
Your rug must be registered within 30 days of purchase.
•
Warranty does not included normal wear and tear and
accidental damage.
