The Marjaree Mason Center Partners with B.95 to
educate teens on the dangers of teen dating violence.
- B.95's Carmen teamed up with the Marjaree Mason Center's Know More
program to help educate both teens and parents about teen dating violence.
Fresno, Calif, The Marjaree Mason Center's Know More program partnered
wth B.95's Carmen, who supports the program. Carmen is special guest and
keynote speaker at several high schools. Being that teens listen to B.95, teens
are familiar with the public figure, and are more receptive to her messages.
The Marjaree Mason Center adopted the Know Program in 2009,and has
worked vigorously to educate teens on the signs, symptoms, and dangers of
teen dating violence. The Know More Program is partnered with 15 different
high schools in 5 different districts throughout the Fresno community. "We
also have a Facebook group chat, where the teens in the program can
discretely communicate."said Rae Pardini, the Director of Communications for
the Marjaree Mason Center.
The program travels to the different schools throughout the district to raise
awareness for teen dating violence. The program interactively engages with
2. their audience by tabling, and inviting notable guest that appeal to the tee
audience.The program also attends the different school's prep rallies to recruit
more students to join the program. By partnering wth Carmen, the program
will not only help get the message across to the targeted audience it also
shows how important getting the message across is.
