Targeted DNA sequencing has become a powerful approach by achieving high coverage of the region of interest while keeping the cost of sequencing and complexity of data interpretation manageable. However, existing PCR-based target enrichment approaches introduce errors due to PCR amplification bias and artifacts, which significantly affects quantification accuracy and limit the ability to confidently detect low-frequency DNA variants. This webinar introduces a new digital sequencing approach that is based on the use of unique molecular indices (UMIs) - QIAseq Targeted DNA Panels. With UMIs, each unique DNA molecule is barcoded before any amplification takes place to correct for PCR errors. Detailed workflow and applications in cancer research will be presented.
