5. Culture and Heritage :-
Odisha:Odisha has highlighted its culture by
bringing into focus various fests. While the
Dhauli Festival, Kalinga Mahotsav and Rajarani
Festivals focus on music and dance, the Beach
Festivals of Chandipur in Puri showcase
handloom, cultural talent and food
exhibitions.Odisha has a rich religious and
cultural heritage that goes back more than two
thousand years. The state is full of historical
places to visit and has many heritage
monuments that reflect its history and culture.
Home to Hindus, Jains and Buddhists, Odisha
offers historic sites and tourist attractions that
will leave you spellbound.
Maharashtra: Different dynasties and rulers have
swept through Maharashtra through the ages,
bringing with them the different form of the
traditional, art, social practices and architectures. The
state features over 350 forts – the largest number in
any state in India. The celebrated heritage sites of
Maharashtra are the testimony of how grand and
glorious were these dynasties. Maharashtra is the
third largest state of India. It has a long history of
Marathi saints of Varakari religious movement, such
as Dnyaneshwar, Namdev, Chokhamela, Eknath and
Tukaram which forms the one of bases of the culture
of Maharashtra or Marathi culture.

7. Literature and Literary work:-
Odisha: Odia literature is the literature written in the
Odia language and predominantly originates in the
Indian state of Odisha. The region has been known at
different stages of history as Kalinga, Udra, Utkala or
Hirakhanda. Odisha was a vast empire in ancient and
medieval times, extending from the Ganges in the north
to the Godavari in the south. During British rule. The
present state of Odisha was formed in 1936. The
modern Odia language is formed mostly from Pali
words with significant Sanskrit influence. Odia is the
only Indo-European language of India other than
Sanskrit and the sixth Indian language that has been
conferred classical language status and forms the basis
of Odissi dance and Odissi music.
Maharashtra: Marathi literature is the body of
literature of Marathi, an Indo-Aryan language
spoken mainly in the Indian state of Maharashtra
and written in the Devanagari and Modi script.
Maharashtri Prakrit was the southern Prakrit that
was spoken in the banks of Narmada and Godavari.
Maharashtri was an offshoot of Vedic Sanskrit. The
earliest example of Maharashtri as a separate
language dates to approximately 3rd century BCE: a
stone inscription found in a cave at Naneghat, Junnar
in Pune district had been written in Maharashtri
using Brahmi script. A committee appointed by the
Maharashtra State Government to get the Classical
status for Marathi has claimed that Marathi existed
at least 2300 years ago.

9. Food And Festival :-
Odisha: Odia Cuisine is the cuisine of the state of
Odisha. It has developed over time with local culture
and agriculture and hence has its distinct items and
practices. Odisha borders both north Indian states
and south Indian states and consequently is similar to
the cuisines of South and North India.
Odisha, the land of diverse cultural heritage,
celebrates numerous religious festivals round the
year, which are typical to the particular region. The
festivities are usually vibrant, marked by colourful
processions, huge gatherings, and the entire region
revels in a festive atmosphere. Odisha celebrates 13
festivals in 12 months as the saying goes "BAARA
MASARE TERATA PARBA”
Maharashtra: Maharashtrian or Marathi cuisine is
the cuisine of the Marathi people from the Indian
state of Maharashtra. It has distinctive attributes,
while sharing much with other Indian cuisines.
Traditionally, Maharashtrians have considered their
food to be more austere than others. As Maharashtra
is a big state, it is home to many religions. The state
also nurtures different traditions with diverse
communities. Apart from the main festivals of Eid,
Holi, Deewali and other festivals, which are
celebrated, all over India, there are other festivals,
which are celebrated locally and regionally in
Maharashtra. Songs, dance and mouth watering
cuisines accompany almost every festivals.

11. Art and Architecture :-
Odisha: Diverse, vibrant and utilitarian the art and
craft of Odisha range from —stone work, silver
filigree, wood craft, appliqué work, brass and bell
metal work, dhokra castings, horn work, pattachitra,
paper mache, terracotta, tie & dye textile in
cotton,tassar and silk to name a few.Odisha
showcases a myriad number of Temples and
monuments.These temples are a living proof the
exquisite architecture of the region. The rock-cut
caves of Khandagiri and Udaygiri and the
inscriptions recording Kharavelas short but eventful
reign during the first century B.C. constitute the
second phase of the evolution in Odishan art.The
Naga and Yaksha images found in places around
Bhubaneswar belong to the post-Kharavela era.
Maharashtra: Warli paintings, a tribal art form,
are mural paintings with characteristic graphic
vocabulary. These paintings originated from the
Warli tribe living in mountainous and coastal
areas of the Maharashtra-Gujarat border.
Maharashtra is famous for its caves and rock cut
architectures. Maharashtra's famous rock-cut
caves have several distinct design elements;
even though sculptures of the time are regarded
to be so stiff and unmoving. The Buddhist caves
particularly the older ones are either temples
(Chaityas) or monasteries (Viharas).

The purpose of this Art Integrated project is to show a
comparative study of geographical status and
environment of Odisha and Maharashtra with refrence
to thier culture, heritage, literature, food, festival, art
work and Architecture.
It is concluded that both Odisha and Maharashtra have a
very rich and diverse practices of thier cultures, foods,
festivals, literary, art works, etc.
