Meet the writers
Priscilla Hopper - Editor-in-chief
I have been writing for The Scott LaindTimes for the past 20
years. I was only 16 when I was hired; I also am the rightful princess of
Norway. However, my father told me that I couldn't pursue my dreams
of being a gossip journalist so, I left and was offered a job here in
Scotland. I immediately took it, and I worked my way up the ladder on
my own to become the editor in chief.
Brandon Brener - Staff writer
I am perhaps the newest and youngest member of the writing staff
for Scott LaindTimes. Before this, I've worked on a few smaller novels
that never have gained enough response to support me financially, so I
turned to journalism and around a year ago I joined the Scott Laind
Times as a full time job.
Julien Guilani- Staff writer
I grew up in New Hampshire. My great-grandfather created
the lightbulb. I honestly haven't had a very eventful life
but when I left America for university, I never expected to be
working here. It really is such an experience. I’ve been working here
for 12 years. I didn't realize that I was a good writer until I became an
intern for Ms. Hopper then later broadened my journalistic features.
Gina Kim - Staff writer
I have been working with the HQ for eight years. I have been
mainly writing articles focusing on kids struggles toward college
acceptance. I was originally an Olympic swimmer with one gold metal
and two bronze, but in the midst I was severely injured and had to end
my career. Later, already having a major in journalism, I joined the
Scott LaindTimes.

In recent news we’ve found that Macbeth is
actually a devil in disguise, through murder
and eye witnesses we can conclude
Macbeth is indeed from hell.
“The bell invites me. Hear it not, Duncan, for
it is a kneel that summons thee to heaven or
to hell”. (2.1.72-74)
Macbeth is calling himself a devil saying
that the bell that rings to mark someone
dead is calling for him to kill the king.
Macbeth is trying to mention that the
heaven or hell is summoning for Duncan
and for Macbeth to be the one to send him
there.
“Here’s a knocking indeed! If a man were
porter of hell-gate, he should have old
turning the key… Who’s there, in the other
devils name? Faith, here’s an equivocator,
that could swear in both the scales against
either scale; who committed treason enough
for God’s sake, 15 yet could not equivocate
t o h e a v e n : O , c o m e i n ,
equivocator.” (2.3.1-22)
Macbeth refers to himself as a devil who
leads people to where they are summoned.
In this scene there is constant knocking at
Macbeth’s door and Macbeth calls himself a
devil like figure that opens the doors to hell
for everyone who knocks the door. Basically
he’s calling the castle he lives in as hell, he
calls himself the devil, and the door that was
constantly knocked as the doorway to hell
(death).
“Lamenting heard I’ the air, strange screams
of death, And prophesying with accents
terrible of dire combustion and confused
events…” (2.3.71-73). Lennox describes the
Something wicked
Gina KIM
this way comes
air, strange screams of death, and terrible
voices predicting catastrophes that will usher
in a woeful new age. He says this right after
Macbeth unknowingly starts becoming evil.
Lennox doesn’t know about Macbeth being a
devil but he knew something devilish will
come . “There’s daggers in men’s smiles:
T h e n e a r i n b l o o d , t h e n e a r e r
bloody.” (2.3.74-5)
Donaldbian was stating how you never know
what’s behind the smile, you don’t know
what their hiding or what their secretly
planning on doing. Donaldbian could also be
mentioning that ever since Macbeth started
his evil and devil like manner all the men
held daggers behind their smile all learning
from Macbeth’s evil schemes.
“Not in the legions of horrid hell can come a
devil more damn'd in evils to top
Macbeth.” (4.3.67-9)
In this scene, Macduff is saying that
Macbeth is so evil and cruel that even the
devils in hell can’t over top him. This shows
that Macbeth is so evil and devil like that
everyone compares him to be more violent
and ruthless then the devils in hell.
“By the pricking of my thumb, something
wicked this way comes.” (4.1.43-44)
The three witches are in the midst of
saying a spell while they sense the arrival of
Macbeth. But the three witches call Macbeth
as wicked but, if the witches who are wicked
call him wicked what it makes him.
“Fair is foul, and foul is fair.”(1.1.11)
Macbeth is stating that good is evil and evil
is good, already showing a side of him that’s
evil. He can’t tell the difference between
good and evil and he doesn’t believe in it.

Malcolm recruits an English
army to reclaim the Scottish
throne, however King Edward
has other plans in mind.
Talk among some of the
Scottish vassals prove that
Macduff has in fact fled to
England. Lennox said that
Macduff is gone to pray the
holy king [King Edward] upon
h i s a i d t o w a k e
Northumberland.
There have been reports that
the traitor Macduff, who has
fled to England, is now
working with Malcolm in
recruiting an army to retake
the Scottish throne.
Reliable sources say that
Malcolm and Macduff were
sighted in London requesting
audience from the English
king. Squabble amongst
some of the lower lords
confirm that they were there
on a mission to recruit
soldiers and supplies from
England, in order to reclaim
the Scottish throne.
It turns out that the plan
issued an order to all the
troops going along with

his testimony. “Oi? Yeah the

No one could've expected a relationship
to spur in the middle of everything
Scotland has going on at the moment
but, Malcolm and Macduff found each
other in the middle of all the chaos.
Malcolm fled to England to find
protection after his father (aka the king)
was murdered. Of course he wanted
revenge because, who wouldn’t? So, he
turned to Macduff, who coincidentally
went to England around the same exact
time. After just a couple very secretive
meetings, the two knew that they were
falling in love.
Before Macbeth’s famous episode of
“seeing Banquo’s ghost”… WHAT?, he
realized multiple people weren't at the
feast. Two of these missing folks
happened to be Macduff and Malcolm!
Thats right, you know exactly what that
means. They were reportedly seen at
the Vanity Fare Fair. It was not very
noticeable at the time, however
everyone slowly found out about their
red hot alliance with each other and
against Macbeth.
Macduff had been recently having some
family trouble though. He had been lying
to his wife and son about which “side” he
was on, and now we all know that he
was obviously playing for the more
colorful one.
*wink wink*
Sadly, Lady Macduff knew about his
secret love for men for quite a while.
When their son asks if his father is a
traitor, she says yes. He never built up
the courage to admit what he really felt
on the inside. This explains why she
even refers to him as dead to her.
“To leave his wife, to leave his babes…
He loves us not” said Lady Macduff.
They weren't the most stable family in
all of Scotland, but who could blame
them? While she grieved in many ways,
Macduff continued with his obsession to
find a new way for Malcolm to become
king so they could rule all of Scotland
by each other’s side.
“Hail, king! Because that’s what you are
now. Look, here I have Macbeth’s
cursed head. We are free from his
tyranny,” says Macduff after killing
Macbeth.
Macduff is visibly very happy to be able
to finally be out and in the open about
him and Malcolm, now that they are free
of Macbeth holding them back because
of the gay marriage laws.
Malcolm performed a speech after his
and Macduff’s plans falling through
perfectly. He promised peace and
invited everyone to see him be crowned
as the rightful king of Scotland. Now
that order is in place, we may see a
new and refreshing change in Scotland.
Malcolm and Macduff get frisky?!
Priscilla HOPPER
Because of recent rumors, we’ve
found out that Lady Macbeth is
suicidal. We’ve found out through
out inside sources. Here’s what we
know:
Lady Macbeth was never
comfortable with her sexually. This
always was a problem that she could
never solve. She once told Macbeth
that she wanted to be “unsexed
here” but he never listened. This is
one of the possible explanations for
her suicide.
We’re also aware of her insomnia
which is another sign of depression.
The Gentlewoman indicated to her
doctor that she had began sleep
walking, which worried her family
and those around her. The doctor
believed through his studies that
insomnia was the lead cause of her
depression. When Lady Macbeth
revealed the secrets of her family,
the doctor had told the gentlewoman
to leave because she already knew
to much. He had to examine Lady
Macbeth right away.
Lady Macbeth had been
hallucinating throughout her final
days too. Because of her insomnia,
she decided that it was best to
overdose on oxycodone. Oxycodone
was a new drug made especially for
Lady Macbeth and when the doctor
said that it could result in brain
damage, or worse, it was because
no cure for this particular type of
drug had been researched let alone
she overdosed, he said, this disease
was beyond his practice.This
resulted in hallucination for when
she thought there was blood on her
hands. She imagines washing the
blood off her hands and says, “Out,
damned spot, out I say!”.
When Macbeth killed Duncan, it
traumatized Lady Macbeth because
it resembled her father in a great
way. She couldn’t go return the
bloody daggers of which Macbeth
had used on Duncan for the murder.
She had an image of her father with
stab wounds and all bloodied up
which wasn’t good for her
depression.
Lady macbeth was also ashamed of
her relationship. For example, she
couldn’t deal with Macbeth’s episode
at the feast. She couldn’t handle the
embarrassment of everyone judging

She imagines washing the blood off her hands and says, “Out, damned spot, out I say!”. When Macbeth killed Duncan, it traumatized Lady Macbeth because it resembled her father in a great way. She couldn’t go return the bloody daggers of which Macbeth had used on Duncan for the murder. She had an image of her father with stab wounds and all bloodied up which wasn’t good for her depression. Lady macbeth was also ashamed of her relationship. For example, she couldn’t deal with Macbeth’s episode at the feast. She couldn’t handle the embarrassment of everyone judging Macbeth’s babe battles bluesJulien GUILANI
