2. Herbert Read (1893-1968) "The Happy Warrior" His wild heart beats with painful sobs,His strin'd hands clench an ice-cold rifle,His aching jaws grip a hot parch'd tongue,His wide eyes search unconsciously. He cannot shriek.Bloody salivaDribbles down his shapeless jacket.I saw him stabAnd stab againA well-killed Boche. This is the happy warrior,This is he... Point of view: Herbert, who is an English poet, thinks that war is a horrible thing for normal people because of the technology and how they fight together.
3. Wilfred Gibson “Back” They ask me where I've been,And what I've done and seen. But what can I replyWho know it wasn't I,But someone just like me,Who went across the seaAnd with my head and handsKilled men in foreign lands...Though I must bear the blame,Because he bore my name. Point of view: Wilfred Gibson, who is an English poet who is related to WW1, said that it’s not that proud to be fighting people because you just go to the foreign places and killed many people, and some of them are innocent.
4. Point of view: The artist was trying to say that in the battle, rifles and tanks are the important weapons that are used during the war.
5. The artistic expressions from WW1 reflect that having a war isn’t good especially with tanks and rifles (which were very effective at that time) because the way we kill innocent people, which doesn’t looks proud, also having a war can lead a country into a downfall in economics because fighting in a war we need a lot of money, resources, etc. which getting all the necessary stuffs too much could lead to a bad economics, and with the down fall of the economy, other factors could gone bad too.
