OVERVIEW OF SDG’S
1
CLIMATE ACTION
There is no country that is not experiencing
the drastic effects of climate change.
Greenhouse gas emissions are more than 50
percent higher than in 1990. Global warming
is causing long-lasting changes to our
climate system, which threatens irreversible
consequences if we do not act.
WHY WE CHOOSE
THIS SDG
We choose this SDG because many people
around the world are suffering from extreme
weather pattern, Every year they experience
warmer summer and stronger typhoons. More
important those people who suffer the most are
the people who are already at the bottom of
pyramid.
Presentation title 3
not only we are going to discuss
these problems but also will
provide sustainable and
achievable goals and solutions
to these obstacles.

CLIMATE CHANGE
• One of 17 Sustainable Development Goals
• Established by the United Nations General
Assembly in 2015
• "Take urgent action to combat climate
change and its impacts "

"Climate change isn't
something people get to
choose to believe it or not; it's
happening"
GOAL
Take urgent action to
combat climate
change and its impacts
TARGET
Integrate climate change
measures into national
policies and strategies
WHAT IS CLIMATE ACTION
• A Policy, Measure, Or Program
• Reduces Greenhouse Gases
• Builds Resilience To Climate
• Change Reduce Carbon Footprints.
CLIMATE
CHANGES
• We’re on the path to exceeding 1.5C of warming.
• Our remaining carbon budget is tiny.
• Sea levels are rising faster today than ever before.
• The Last Decade Was the Hottest in 125,000 Years
CLIMATE
CHANGES
• Arctic sea ice is rapidly diminishing.
• We Are Losing 1.2 Trillion Tons of Ice Each Year.
• Dengue fever could spread through much of
southeastern US by 2050
• Average wildlife populations have dropped by 60
per cent in just over 40 years.

WHAT IS THE NEED OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
IN TODAYS ERA OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND
CREATIVITY
The world is facing serious environmental challenges
including climate change, freshwater, water, and air
pollution, and hunger.
Sustainable development is very important as it focuses
on improving human-environment interaction by
prioritizing the management and protection of the earth’s
natural resources for future generations. By promoting
stable economic growth, conservation of natural
resources.
Entrepreneurship as a key element
for sustainable development:
Developing entrepreneurship is a key element of strategies that
support the attainment of the SDGs.
Entrepreneurship fulfils the goals of SDG1and SDG9.
Zero poverty , promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization
and foster innovation.
Government Plans for promoting Entrepreneurship
1. National Expansion plans of NICs
2. Empretec program
PROGRAMS FOR SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT
National Expansion Plan of NICs :
The National Expansion Plan of NICs encourages innovation and entrepreneurship by
providing incubation centers equipped with support and free-of-cost services at multiple
levels.
EMPRETEC:
Empretec is a United Nations program established by the United Nations Conference on Trade and
Development (UNCTAD) to promote the creation of sustainable, innovative, and internationally competitive
small- and medium-sized enterprises.
It is dedicated to helping promising entrepreneurs put their ideas into action and fledgling businesses to
grow.
Over the past three decades, Empretec has continuously demonstrated high impact by contributing to
sustainable development and inclusive growth.

FIGHTING CLIMATE CHANGE WITH NUCLEAR
SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
They are also taking steps to improve the agriculture sector a
major source of greenhouse gas emissions by using nuclear
science and technology to study and develop new methods for
growing food that also reduce emissions, such as carbon
sequestration, which uses certain types of plants and harvesting
methods to encourage soil to take in and hold onto more carbon
dioxide from the atmosphere.
