Li-Fi technology uses visible light communication (VLC) to transmit data wirelessly using LED lights. It provides an alternative to Wi-Fi by using light-emitting diodes (LEDs) that can be used as access points to transmit data through walls and ceilings at high speeds. The seminar discussed what Li-Fi is, why it is needed as an alternative technology, how it works using LED lights as transmitting elements and photo diodes as receiving elements, its applications and benefits like being secure, green, and providing large bandwidth and fast data transfer at low cost. Challenges to the technology were also mentioned along with the conclusion that if implemented, every light bulb could function as a Li-Fi hotspot
