• Evolved from the British Army.
• Immediately after independence – fought first Indo-
Pak War in 1947-48.
• Liberated Goa in 1961.
• Fought Sino-India War in 1962.
• Fought three subsequent war with Pakistan in 1962 ,
1965 & 1971.
• Other major operation undertaken by Indian Army
include operation Vijay & operation Parakram.

mountain jungle in the east , the army has to
constantly prepare itself for diverse conditions.

9. A Soldier Sacrifice
• We celebrate Holi , Diwali and many other
festivals but a soldier did not time to
celebrate single festival.
• No one care for soldier who give their life for
India’s sake. We should care about them who
present 24 hours for our saftey.
