2. This week we will be taking on the dreaded "Why should we
hire you?" job interview question.
If this question comes up in your interview, chances are it is
one of the last questions you get asked. So, this may be your
last chance to prove to the employer that you are their best
option for the position.
Stay away from the desperate sounding answers. You want
them to think that you want THIS job and not just ANY job:
3. Because I need a job so badly and I don't know what
I will do if I don't get this.
You also want to stay away from cliched answers that
don't give the employer a good idea of why you want to
work for them:
Because I'm a hard worker and I want to work here.
Because I'd do a really good job.
4. Your best bet is to be specific. Tailor your qualifications with the job
description:
I've worked in retail for about three years now and I know what level of
service customers are expecting when they walk through the door. My
experience makes me a great fit for this position and my personality fits in
really well with everything you've told me about the company during this
interview. I believe I can be very successful in this position and that we
would work really well together.
Your answer to this question will stick out in employers’ minds, so you want to
really show them that you are the best candidate for the position. You also
want to stress just how much this company will fit in with your personality and
strengths.
5. Avoid surprises — interviews need preparation. Some questions come up
time and time again — usually about you, your experience and the job
itself. We've gathered together the most common questions so you can get
your preparation off to a flying start.
