2. Disability
Jim Hukill, Executive Director Lift Disability Network
Jim Hukill believes that “physical limitations” do not necessarily mean “life limitations”.
Before the age of two, Jim was diagnosed with a neuro-muscular disease, a form of
Muscular Dystrophy, a disease that has steadily weakened the muscles of his body
and has left him dependent on the use of a wheelchair. However, the limitation of
Jim’s physical body has not dictated the limits of his life. Jim says, “If you dream big
dreams, you will live bigger realities”. With a life expectancy of less than ten years and
a diagnosis of life-long respiratory problems, Jim has experienced living well beyond
this early prognosis. Today he celebrates more than five decades of “life-miracles”
and bigger realities. To hear him sing and communicate his life-experience, you
quickly become aware of the vitality that resonates from every breath as you will see
…God’s strength...being made perfect…in weakness.

7. Disability
While serving people with disabilities the past 10 years, we
have discovered elements that complete the cycle of one’s
wholeness.
It has been our observation that the closer individuals get
to better health; the desire to contribute, serve and/or give
emerges.
People who face disability issues are often transformed
when given an opportunity to invest In others.
With this discovery restoring a sense of service has
become one of our organization’s principal objectives.

8. Lift Disability – Give Back
November 6, 2010 (Loc. TBD)
I want to take this opportunity to share with you an exciting project that we
have initiated; GiveBack. This event is designed to provide an
environment for giving in tribute of those who have waited in hospital
rooms with us, volunteered service for our families, given us a chance to
show our gifts and whispered prayers on our behalf.
We are pleased to sponsor an Operation Christmas Child event for
families with disabilities in Central Florida on November 6th (loc. TBD)

9. Lift Disability – Give Back 2010
GiveBack is a single day event that will allow individuals with
disabilities and their families a chance to give children in Third
World countries a gift box for Christmas. Our disability
community will be invited to bring decorative shoeboxes filled
with children’s items as an expression of their desire to give
back. This annual event is filled with many activities, stuffing
boxes, and creating personal impressions.
