Responsible for reviewing, synthesizing, and curating information from journal
articles for the Proteome BioKnowledge Library, an online proteomics database.

Developed gene expression studies related to neurodegenerative diseases of the
central nervous system, particularly Alzheimer’s disease. Defined sequence
elements in the promoter of the amyloid precursor protein which interact with
transcription factors SP1 and USF.

Mapped sites of cAMP-dependent protein kinase phosphorylation of subunits of
the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor expressed in Xenopus oocytes, and the effects
of phosphorylation on desensitization of the channel in the laboratory of Dr.
Richard Huganir.
