Carlos Barrera is a biomedical engineering student who graduated from the University of Miami in 2015. He has extensive research experience in orthopedics and intervertebral disc regeneration. He has worked as a teaching assistant for scanning electron microscopy and assisted in various chemistry laboratories. The Sports Review Journal is a surveillance journal which reviews research publications and comments on the strengths and weaknesses of that literature in a 300 word summary.
The purpose is to give researchers, physicians, fellows, and anyone else interested in the fields of Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, and Rehabilitation Medicine, a way to read through the large amounts of literature that exist and are being published, in a more efficient way that is permitting of their limited time.
The journal is currently being approved by the library of congress, with our pilot launch scheduled for May 2015.

Conducting orthopedic research at the Biomechanics and Stem Cell laboratory lead by Dr. Chun Yuh Huang in the University of Miami Biomedical Engineering Department
Currently working on a project dealing with Intervertebral Disc Degeneration and Scanning Electron Microscopy analysis of an in vivo nutrient delivery system for Intervertebral Discs
Project deals with the effects of ATP and Adenosine on IVD cell proliferation and matrix regeneration, along with a catheter project to directly feed nutrients and stem cells to the IVD discs
