2. • ‘A Young Understanding’ by Sundara Karma
• I chose this song as I immediately thought of visuals that create
meaning for the lyrics and the opportunities I have to film
• My music video will adhere to similar conventions in ‘Vivienne’ by
Sundara Karma & ’Never Enough’ by The Hunna but will not conform
to the performance-based video proposed by Sven E Carlsson,
which is similar to the music video ’T-Shirt Weather by Circa Waves
3. Representation of existing
band
• Their music videos for ‘Explore’ and ‘A Young Understanding’
adhere to typical conventions, as they tend to be low-budget.
They are often shot in parks and backstreets, which are easily
accessible. I will adhere to this convention, as I will be filming at
various locations, including Hill Farm in Oxfordshire & Finsbury
Park in London
• They are inspired by literature and philosophy, for example:
‘Flame’ is influenced by Plato’s Allegory of the Cave &
‘Loveblood’ is influenced by Oscar Wilde. Sundara Karma are
represented as intellectual and artistic. Most of their videos are
performance-based, whereas their most recent video released
is concept-based. I will be filming a concept-based video, as I
want to convey a narrative to the audience
4. Talent
