Agent Trial/Analysis Results
Omalizumab
• Analysis of the PROSE study showed children with percent predicted forced
FEV1 <80%, BMI ≥85% of the healthy range for children, eosinophil counts
≥300 cells/mcL, and FeNO levels ≥20 ppb had numerically higher differences in
exacerbation rates with omalizumab compared with placebo plus inhaled steroids1
Mepolizumab
• Analysis of the DREAM trial demonstrated that peripheral blood eosinophil count
is the best clinically available biomarker for predicting a response to mepolizumab
treatment2
Reslizumab
• Small study with up to 4 years of longitudinal data supports that extended
long-term use of reslizumab is safe and well-tolerated with maintained reduction
in clinical asthma exacerbations3
Tralokinumab
• Data from the MESOS trial showed treatment with tralokinumab 300 mg subQ,
Q2W for 12 weeks did not significantly affect eosinophils in airway submuscosa,
blood, or sputum compared with placebo, but did significantly reduce FeNO
concentrations4
