Elementary Vs Middle School Essay
"Ring" everyone gets up and walks out of the classroom. Time for my next class, wait what is my next class? Oh,this is harder than elementary.
Everything flips around once you go from elementary to middle school. In middle school you have a lot more responsibilities and your parents trust
you more, you go to a new school when you are in middle school, and you have more freedom in middle school.Middle school is hard you have a lot
more responsibilities and the parents and teachers trust you with your responsibilities. Once you get into middle school the teacher give you a lot more
homework than in elementary. In elementary we had zero homework, but now we have homework every night. The teacher expects you to do the
homework and turn it in

Middle School Education Essay
Young adolescents are experiencing a very critical time in their lives by attempting to discover themselves and determine who they want to be. Middle
school children are extremely diverse, physically, emotionally, and mentally due to the changes they experience during the transescence period. Within
the middle school years, an interest in education is either sparked or neglected, and as a future educator it is my responsibility to encourage a love of
learning through the classes of mathematics and social studies.
To begin with, "during the second decade of life, individuals are assumed to acquire a stable personality, to find their identity, to learn the mechanisms
of adult personal relationships, and to learn to cope with various problem...show more content...
It promotes working together and helps find the best learning strategies and approaches to information. In social studies and math classrooms, it is
crucial for students to design projects together and understand what it means to be part of a team. By introducing them to group work in middle
school, they will be ready for the tasks in high school, college, and the workforce. Not only is it important for the students to collaborate, it is also
essential for teachers to collaborate. If all of the math or social studies teachers get together and share experiences, their ideas will help create the most
effective lessons and activities, that are engaging and beneficial to the students. It should not be limited to just the same subject teachers. The teams of
teachers can create units throughout the year and tie in activities that relate directly to the themed unit. For example, if a team wants to focus on outer
space, the students will study it in science, the math class will work on space word problems, language arts can read a science fiction book, and the
social studies class can focus on events such as the space race. Not only should teachers collaborate within their grade levels, they should also
effectively communicate with elementary and high school teachers. By doing so, middle school teachers will recognize what information the students
should already know and what information they will need to know. With the use of pre and post assessments, teachers will be able to effectively
communicate this

Middle School Application Essay
My passion for mathematics was fixed at the age of ten, on the morning that my mathematics teacher told I would be sitting the Junior Maths
Challenge, 'as practice for when you are older'. As I nervously started to answer the questions, a whole world began to open before me. I revelled in
the problem solving, answering questions of a nature I had not seen before. My teachers were delighted when I emerged from the exam hungry for
more. Since then I have consistently demonstrated my aptitude, achieving gold awards through to senior level, and scoring highly in the European
Kangaroo.
My middle school supported me by arranging weekly one–hour lessons with Dr Taylor, a local upper schoolteacher. These sessions nurtured my
inquisitiveness and explored...show more content...
I believe my mathematical studies are complemented by my third A level– music. I hear and see music in numbers, and my approach to playing or
singing is similar to the mindset I use in maths.
I am a dedicated and conscientious student in class, and a key member in many extra–curricular activities. As a keen musician, playing violin, trombone
and piano, I contribute to a number of musical ensembles in school and played an integral part in the organisation of our school's summer concert. I
am also a member of several local youth orchestras and bands, with whom I have toured abroad many times, most recently to Italy, France and Belgium.
I have been a volunteer at my local Brownie unit for four years. Over this time I have taken on an increasingly important role in the organisation:
working with the girls, the leadership team and the division executive team, running meetings, and latterly keeping the unit accounts. I am working
towards my leadership warrant to become a Guider. I believe that the skills and experience that I have gained as a Brownie volunteer have benefited
all areas of my life, including in my role as Deputy Head

Middle School Essay
Ever since I came to this school, I have been participating more, but there are times where they call on me and I don't respond or I just say I don't
know.In middle school, I have been using to study for everything, now I haven't been studying as much.I haven't really been preparing myself
before tests/quizzes but for the upcoming finals, I am going to be studying the most because for sure I don't want to be failing 9th grade. When I
have a bad grade in a class, I will usually be asking for help or questions like how can I raise my grade up.I do that because I want the teachers to
know that I'm a serious person and that I care about my grades. This is a bad year for me for turning in homework.I usually turn homework in late or I
don't even turn it in time and that's a very bad habit....show more content...
I would like to improve in a bunch of stuff and starting with one of those things are turning in homework in time.I also want to study a lot more so
I would do better in tests/quizzes.I don't want to be getting distracted no more because there has been a lot of times where I get distracted and I don't

My Experience At First Middle School
Nice to Meet You All during Elementary School I couldn 't wait 'till Middle School no more taddle tails. A different teacher every day, No more
cranky teacher for the whole day. Yeah! The best part about it is that there will be air conditioning. I know that sounds really weird but at my old
school there was no air conditioning so at the end of the school year the rooms would get super hot and none of the teachers would want to turn on
the fans because they were loud and the students would get really distracted. I know that sounds crazy. I thought it would be the best years of my
life. Everyone and I mean everyone said that said that it would be really hard. At first Middle School was really easy. I met some of the nicest
people I will ever meet. I was in or at least I though I was in. I thought I was one of there friends. I though they were one of mine. I hate to say this I
mean I really truly hate to say this but I was wrong. Super wrong. When I was told that it would be hard. I though by hard when they meant math
would be hard. I was also wrong then to. I 'm starting to thing I 'm wrong a lot. I didn 't think they meant that friends and meeting new friends
would be hard. Dealing with friend drama is really hard. Middle School isn 't just hard it 's impossible. Well almost impossible. Middle school has its
ups and downs, well mostly downs if I 'm honest. As I was saying Middle School is hard I mean their is drama lots and lots of it. I mean their is

Math In Middle School Essay
Math was not always difficult for me. It used to be a lot easier because I found that more of the basic math was easier. Now, I still used to basics of
math, but i use them in a harder way now using letters and symbols. In middle school, I did struggle because my 7th grade teacher would just give
us half sheets of word problems and equations on the thing we learned in the 6th grade. My 8th grade math teacher would give us packets and
packets of examples on how to work but he would never teach us or explain how to solve the example problems. Basically, I struggled because it was
never really explained to me how to solve equations and why we do that. I have always struggled with negative numbers but recently with khan I have
been getting better

Middle Childhood Essay examples
Middle childhood is defined a number of ways, but perhaps best defined as the ages 6 to 12 years of age or prepubescent to pubescence Middle
childhood is a challenging time and a major challenge is social constructs, as this is the earliest time when children begin to move away from parental
influences and establish more meaningful peer and other adult relationships. It signifies a new set of social contacts with adults and other children as
well as a wider variety of settings than those that characterize early childhood. Children begin to see themselves as a part of a bigger whole. Peer
influences can become more powerful than the adults in the children's life and impact their sense of self. Grouping is established and teasing of others

This methodology encompasses examining the child's life through many different contexts, such as: demography, history, sociology, biology,
developmental psychology, and economics. ( w. website ) The Life Course Perspective takes the combination of the historical and social factors and
sees them in an individual's course of personal development. A life course is defined as a sequence of socially defined events and roles that the
individual enacts over time. ( W. website ) The theory loosely follows the sage old adage, "To know where you're going, you have to know where
you have been." More precisely, the theory explains that the roles, events or transitions in an individual's life don't naturally progress in a structures
order, but instead but create the sum of one's life experience. (website) Transitions play an important role in the life experience.
Transitions are considered by the Life Course Perspective to be changes in roles and statuses that represent a distinct departure from prior roles and
statuses. (page 14) They can affect a child in a myriad of ways: both positively and negatively and many center on the experience the child has in the
family construct. The way that the child moves through these transitions can define their life trajectory and the choices later in life. An example of this
can be seen in "The Season's of Life" series, Trey transitioned into a new

Essay About Middle School
Middle school was a lot of fun for me, I met a lot of new people and lots of new girls. It was also kinda tough in the beginning with switching classes
and things and having so many different teachers and lots of homework from different classes and having to remember the room numbers of each class
but eventually I got used to everything. My first day in middle school didn't seem that much different than elementary school only thing that was
different was that we switched classes but we had our teachers telling us where to go for our next classes so it wasn't hard. On like the third day of
middle school I was very confused because we had all the big 7th and 8th graders there and the teachers weren't helping us and telling bus where to
go anymore so I would be late to class and my teachers would be mad. It was hard for me to transition to having several teachers instead of one
because all of my teachers were very different we had some teachers that were cool and then we had some strict teachers. The work didn't get much
harder math did but not any other subjects, math was very difficult...show more content...
Some things I went through during my pre–adolescent was my legs would always hurt and I had found out I had something called osgood–schlatter
disease and I had a big knot on my knee and it still hurts till this day sometimes. I eventually learned to deal with the pain but it kinda stopped my
performance in track and football I wasn't as fast anymore I sometimes couldn't run because it would hurt so bad.
Middle school was very fun though and it matured me a lot for high school I also learned a lot of things in middle school that have helped me in
highschool I also still have some of my middle schools teachers now like Ms.Bowen that was my favorite teacher in middle school she was very cool.

Middle School Application Essay Sample
Since submitting my original application to Berkeley back in November, I organized and took a leading role in a project called the Brown Middle
School Health Sciences Pilot Program, a project which has been considerably meaningful to me and my growth as an individual, learner, and leader.
As mentioned previously in my original application, I was perplexed by the seemingly never ending complexity of human anatomy, and I developed a
love for medicine at an early age. Unfortunately, no classes or programs were offered by my middle school that explored these topics. Although my
desire to seek the health sciences was fulfilled in high school, an opportunity to explore medicine at an even earlier age would have garnered even
further success and would help me progress through my secondary education at a more focused rate.
Now, as a senior in high school, I was given the opportunity to create a project to help my community in some way related to health sciences. I
immediately formed a small team to organize a program to benefit my community educationally by giving middle schoolers the chance to explore
medical careers and human anatomy, something I didn't have the chance to do myself at that age....show more content...
Our vision for these lessons was to give the middle schoolers a candid perspective on the medical field, letting them know not just the benefits of
becoming a doctor, but also the trials and tribulations they must undego. Furthermore, we wanted them to explore anatomy and medical procedures
hands–on, rather than through books or videos. They were to learn how to suture on meshes that accurately simulated real skin, perform CPR on
mannequins that gave real time feedback, measure and chart vitals of their partners, and cut into and explore organ specimens that reflected the
structure of their human

My Experience Of Middle School
Most people go through Middle School without any problems and I wish I could say the same about my experience. But I can't. I was bullied a lot
through Middle school. The students would comment about my weight and ask questions such as, "Why are you massive compared to your
brother?" or, "Are you sure you don't need a custom made desk to fit into?" Soon enough, I got use to the name calling and payed little attention to it.
However, I can't say the same about my self confidence. After core classes, we'd head to the locker room and get ready for Physical Education. I was
always the last one to get dressed. Not because I was slow, but because I didn't want the other kids to see me take off my shirt. I was scared of
potential humiliation. So,

Middle School Reflection Essay
8th grade was great I wasn't the youngest, I was in the oldest grade. At this point I had middle school perfectly handled. Going to high school and
being a freshman is terrifying you're the smallest you don't know what a seminar B is and when you go to it. I loved middle school. I love high
school; the only reason that I love it is because I have middle school to reflect off of. I have those experiences to help me have more. I use middle
school to reflect and learn from everything that I did. I'm doing well in high school so far only because I have I have past experiences so that I can
make choices that best benefit me now. Arnold Spirit from The Absolutely True Diary of a Part
–Time Indian and the Narrator from "The Bass, The
River and Sheila Mant" are reflective because they both took action while being unique making it much harder than necessary. At the end of it
they learned a valuable lesson and made the best decision for themselves. Arnold shows reflect, reflects through his actions and his thoughts
continuously throughout the book. "Drunk for a week, my father must have really wanted to spend those last five dollars. He could have spent
that five bucks and stayed drunk for another day or two. But he saved it for me."(Alexie 151). He reflects off of his father resisting the urge.
Resisting unacceptable habits for his son; the best way to show someone's love although the circumstances are unfortunate. Arnold has a hard time
realizing that he is loved and that people do care about what happens to him. His dad saving a smelly five dollar bill from in his old boot was the
best thing that he could've done for his son. Arnold reflects and sees just how much people care and that he does in fact have people to lean on for
help. " Rowdy spun around and shoved me. "'Don't touch me, you retarded fag!' he yelled. My heart broke into fourteen pieces, one for every year
that Rowdy and I been best friends."(Alexie 52). Arnold thinks long and hard about how everyone in his tribe will react to the fact that he's leaving the
Reservation. He realizes that if he thought he was getting beaten up plenty before then people would beat him to death. He weighs out the
unsatisfactory factors and he knows that it will

My Experience At Middle School
In middle school, 5th to 8th grade, I endure multiple adjective to describe my experience in middle school. While in Middle School, I struggle with
my appearance which has stayed as an adult. For I always look at myself and all the flaws in my features, as my family members and/or friends
state my beauty features, I will brushed them off by stating the negative feature I visually observe. Until recently, I've overcome my inability of
reading in public and/or to my peers. As my cousin passed away tragically, his mother (my Aunt) asked if I will read his poem to her and a group
of 50 strangers. She knew my fear of public speaking, she also knew my dream of becoming a teacher and starting to a career as a substitute
teacher. Therefore, she knew I needed to overcome the fear of speaking. I am extremely pleased with myself to speak clearly and to have the
strength and encouragement of my family to overcome my greatest fear with a poem in dedication to my beloved cousin. In 5th grade, my
insecurity resulted in myself being bullied by others for my appearance which I expressed still affects myself as an adult. When conduction
presentation as I displayed unconfident with my appearances, therefore in English, I failed behind. I would hid in a corner and during reading
groups, and when asked to read, I would stutter and/or have an excuse for not being able to read. In 6th grade, being shy and not able to talk to others
as I being afraid of what they thought and would say as the

Informative Essay On Middle School
During my eighth grade year in middle school I had one of the magnificent teachers ever, Mr. Gendron. He's was my Avid and a math teacher. He
would also teach everyone what was right and wrong. Teaching everyone what they can do to succeed, asking if they needed someone to talk to, he
was as a counselor to me. Whenever he would see someone changing their way to be he would know something was going on, it was as he had
superpowers. He believed that we could work hard enough to succeed. He had hope on us whatsoever. Failing wasn't an option for us, he would try his
best to make us understand the lesson. Making us learn each problem step–by–step. Many significant memories in my eighth grade year, but the special
ones are with Mr.

My Life Of My Middle School Years
My middle school years was not a very easy chapter in my life, but the past three years have defined me a lot. I'm an iceberg type of person; you
can see a little bit of me on the surface, but the real part, the bigger part of me, is hidden. I don't show all my colors at once. I keep myself clamped
shut, too cautious to share myself with other people. I've learned early in life that some people's stories just briefly entwined with mine before we part
ways forever. I learned that everything in life in temporary, and that made me hesitate to get to know people well–after all, what's the point when you
just have to leave? Now, I know better. These three years have really shaped who I am. Even though everything isn't permanent, it's the moments, the
little snapshots that count. Life is short; moments are fleeting, but memories last forever in the book of life. It's a journey, and every moment has a
significant impact on me. My theme is "Page by Page", which means that I am writing my own story. Whatever has happened through these years, I
have chosen my own path. We are the authors of our own life, and I'm just at the beginning. Page by page, we create the life that we live in. Even
through all the hardships, my middle school years have been altogether the best experience I could ever have.
In sixth grade, I was almost meek, preferring to stay in the shadows and read a book than converse with other students. Everything was so strange, and
at first, it was quite overwhelming.

Middle School Teacher Essay
As children start middle school they become more than a follower of their parents, they start really growing into their own person. Middle school is a
time when children start to have their own opinions and beliefs. It is a time when they begin following their friends and developing habits that can last
a time. It is a time when they start puberty and have many physical and emotional changes. The middle school years are a time when young adolescents
create the foundation of who they will be as individuals and that will mold their entire lives. Due to all of these changes and all of this growth middle
school is a fundamental time in a young adolescents' life.

I believe that may have been lost within reorganization, but as a teacher I want to do my best to provide an education that "develops good people" as
John Arnold stated (Arnold, p. 101). This means help the children grow up into people with character, attitude, values, and integrity. I plan to be a
teacher that will use progressive measures to focus on the whole child and not simply raising test scores. I know test scores are important to
schools and to policies and regulation, so I will not lose focus on that. In my lesson plans I will do my best to include pieces that will have them
think about real world situations and what they feel about it, such as a research and writing assignment regarding plastics in the ocean. An
assignment like that would help their research skills and writing skills, while also introducing them to an actual problem in the world. I believe this is
the type of assignments I will use as much as possible to help my future students work on their writing skills, grammar skills, and reading skills, plus
practice real life skills and thinking about how the world works and their opinions about it.
Continuing with being a teaching that the students need, I feel having a curriculum that is beneficial to the students is crucial in the learning
experience. I believe in providing a personalized integrated curriculum. The only way to do this is to get to know my students and use what they
connect to in the classroom

Interview With Middle School Principal Essay
An effective school leader possesses skills to create, implement, evaluate, improve and share a staff development plan. I met with Ben Rhodes, Sandy
Creek Middle School's principal, to interview him on the specific elements of his yearly staff development plan. We began with the design process
focusing on the district and school goals. District goals include improving literacy across the content areas in reading and writing, Guaranteed and
Viable Curriculum (GVC). Guaranteed and Viable Technology (GVT), and Closing the Achievement Gap (Equity in Excellence). Using a variety of

Professional development principles Ben embraces are Rigor, Relationships, Relevance and Realness. Mr. Rhodes continually emphasizes that work
needs to have relevance and rigor in assignments and that the relationships teachers build with students is essential for success. Specific content used
for staff development goals are Glenn Singleton's work (Equity), National Achievement Gap, High Performing Schools, 90/90/90 Studies, 21st Century
Skills, Marzano's Instructional Strategies, and Heidi Hayes Jacobs' literacy work. A variety of activities for teaching new skills to teachers occurs
throughout the year. These include study groups, guest speakers, ERO (staff development classes), open classroom visits, master teachers sharing best
practices in literacy, differentiated instruction, , math, and culturally responsive teaching, conference opportunities, mentors, district content area
inservices, building inservice days, monthly district content area meetings, partnerships with universities, Collaborative Action Research for Equity
(C.A.R.E.) cadre, and monthly building equity meetings. Mr. Rhodes uses the district Teaching Learning Cycle (Plan–Teach–Monitor– Adjust) to
evaluate and assess the learning goals and make improvements. Ben also meets with Ben and the leadership team about the goals and creates the
timeline to provide training and analyze progress. Evaluation of the learning goals using the SIP (as a living document) and individual goals are

My First Day Of Middle School Essay
"Dad c'mon we're going to be late," I jumped into our families suv with a fresh cup of coffee in hand, slammed the door and started up the Honda Pilot.
I looked to my right seeing my spouse before looking over my shoulder to the looks of my son placing his book bag on the floor, it was his first day of
middle school and I couldn 't be more nervous for him. He was slightly anxious to get there on time, as was I. Flying out of our neighborhood as we
started to drive towards this new chapter in our families lives, I could only stop and think back of a moment that helped shape me into who I am
today... I was so nervous to start middle school... Oh My God. Middle school is the time I think when parents utterly question the whole reason why
they had unprotected sex in the beginning. Your body goes through such an awkward state of being, puberty. Ugh, just saying the word makes me
cringe, just like my voice did for the longest time. You could say I was the definition of a "late bloomer," my mind was advancing and I was growing
taller but never gained any muscle, facial hair or balls dropping, unlike the other boys. Middle school was this transitional period where boys and girls
started to get interested in each other, the whole "cootie" phase was over and now they started to either get physical or at least think they were getting
physical with one another. I had one "girlfriend" throughout middle school and lets be honest, she wasn't my girlfriend. Let's get something

because it was a state level competition and was moderately competitive to win. In the Achieve3000 program, basically, an individual has to compete

Personal Narrative: Elementary And Middle School
Elementary and middle school was a very interesting experience for me. The school I attended from kindergarten to 8th grade was a diverse school.
I had a lot of ups and downs while going there. Overall being there allowed me to grow as a person and introduced me to different things. It also help
me achieve high in academics.
Growing up black in living in what they call "the hood" I was so use to being around just African Americans. Attending aschool with a variety of races
was something different for me and had a huge impact on me. I had an opportunity to learn more about other cultures and I feel that was a good thing
because I could see their culture from my own point of view. It also helped me grow personally and made...show more content...
In 4–6 grade the boys in my class used to pick on me all the time about my size. At that school there wasn't many blacks and most of the girls there
were petite. My "thickness" or "big bones" was considered fat to them. Being called out my name had me a little insecure and really affected my
feelings. However I grew up and stop caring what anybody has to say about me and gained a great amount of confidence.
Lastly, I grew academically. My growth in my academics really occurred great my 8th grade year. I struggled a lot in science my whole time in
school but however in 8th grade I had made a huge improvement, even was two questions away from getting commanded on STAAR. Actually my
teachers for all four core classes taught me a lot and I didn't even realize it until I made it to high school. Their teachings helped me get through high
school somewhat easier.
All in all, I feel that being at a diverse school had an impact on me. I learned so much from being at that school and also met some nice people.
There are so things I wish I could've changed but it's always good to learn from mistakes. Without any of this, I would be who I am

Elementary Vs Middle School Essay

  • 1. Elementary Vs Middle School Essay "Ring" everyone gets up and walks out of the classroom. Time for my next class, wait what is my next class? Oh,this is harder than elementary. Everything flips around once you go from elementary to middle school. In middle school you have a lot more responsibilities and your parents trust you more, you go to a new school when you are in middle school, and you have more freedom in middle school.Middle school is hard you have a lot more responsibilities and the parents and teachers trust you with your responsibilities. Once you get into middle school the teacher give you a lot more homework than in elementary. In elementary we had zero homework, but now we have homework every night. The teacher expects you to do the homework and turn it in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Middle School Education Essay Young adolescents are experiencing a very critical time in their lives by attempting to discover themselves and determine who they want to be. Middle school children are extremely diverse, physically, emotionally, and mentally due to the changes they experience during the transescence period. Within the middle school years, an interest in education is either sparked or neglected, and as a future educator it is my responsibility to encourage a love of learning through the classes of mathematics and social studies. To begin with, "during the second decade of life, individuals are assumed to acquire a stable personality, to find their identity, to learn the mechanisms of adult personal relationships, and to learn to cope with various problem...show more content... It promotes working together and helps find the best learning strategies and approaches to information. In social studies and math classrooms, it is crucial for students to design projects together and understand what it means to be part of a team. By introducing them to group work in middle school, they will be ready for the tasks in high school, college, and the workforce. Not only is it important for the students to collaborate, it is also essential for teachers to collaborate. If all of the math or social studies teachers get together and share experiences, their ideas will help create the most effective lessons and activities, that are engaging and beneficial to the students. It should not be limited to just the same subject teachers. The teams of teachers can create units throughout the year and tie in activities that relate directly to the themed unit. For example, if a team wants to focus on outer space, the students will study it in science, the math class will work on space word problems, language arts can read a science fiction book, and the social studies class can focus on events such as the space race. Not only should teachers collaborate within their grade levels, they should also effectively communicate with elementary and high school teachers. By doing so, middle school teachers will recognize what information the students should already know and what information they will need to know. With the use of pre and post assessments, teachers will be able to effectively communicate this Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Middle School Application Essay My passion for mathematics was fixed at the age of ten, on the morning that my mathematics teacher told I would be sitting the Junior Maths Challenge, 'as practice for when you are older'. As I nervously started to answer the questions, a whole world began to open before me. I revelled in the problem solving, answering questions of a nature I had not seen before. My teachers were delighted when I emerged from the exam hungry for more. Since then I have consistently demonstrated my aptitude, achieving gold awards through to senior level, and scoring highly in the European Kangaroo. My middle school supported me by arranging weekly one–hour lessons with Dr Taylor, a local upper schoolteacher. These sessions nurtured my inquisitiveness and explored...show more content... I believe my mathematical studies are complemented by my third A level– music. I hear and see music in numbers, and my approach to playing or singing is similar to the mindset I use in maths. I am a dedicated and conscientious student in class, and a key member in many extra–curricular activities. As a keen musician, playing violin, trombone and piano, I contribute to a number of musical ensembles in school and played an integral part in the organisation of our school's summer concert. I am also a member of several local youth orchestras and bands, with whom I have toured abroad many times, most recently to Italy, France and Belgium. I have been a volunteer at my local Brownie unit for four years. Over this time I have taken on an increasingly important role in the organisation: working with the girls, the leadership team and the division executive team, running meetings, and latterly keeping the unit accounts. I am working towards my leadership warrant to become a Guider. I believe that the skills and experience that I have gained as a Brownie volunteer have benefited all areas of my life, including in my role as Deputy Head Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Middle School Essay Ever since I came to this school, I have been participating more, but there are times where they call on me and I don't respond or I just say I don't know.In middle school, I have been using to study for everything, now I haven't been studying as much.I haven't really been preparing myself before tests/quizzes but for the upcoming finals, I am going to be studying the most because for sure I don't want to be failing 9th grade. When I have a bad grade in a class, I will usually be asking for help or questions like how can I raise my grade up.I do that because I want the teachers to know that I'm a serious person and that I care about my grades. This is a bad year for me for turning in homework.I usually turn homework in late or I don't even turn it in time and that's a very bad habit....show more content... I would like to improve in a bunch of stuff and starting with one of those things are turning in homework in time.I also want to study a lot more so I would do better in tests/quizzes.I don't want to be getting distracted no more because there has been a lot of times where I get distracted and I don't do my work.I also want to do better in Math class because Math is an important subject and also because I am not the best at Math so it would be nice to see myself do better in that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. My Experience At First Middle School Nice to Meet You All during Elementary School I couldn 't wait 'till Middle School no more taddle tails. A different teacher every day, No more cranky teacher for the whole day. Yeah! The best part about it is that there will be air conditioning. I know that sounds really weird but at my old school there was no air conditioning so at the end of the school year the rooms would get super hot and none of the teachers would want to turn on the fans because they were loud and the students would get really distracted. I know that sounds crazy. I thought it would be the best years of my life. Everyone and I mean everyone said that said that it would be really hard. At first Middle School was really easy. I met some of the nicest people I will ever meet. I was in or at least I though I was in. I thought I was one of there friends. I though they were one of mine. I hate to say this I mean I really truly hate to say this but I was wrong. Super wrong. When I was told that it would be hard. I though by hard when they meant math would be hard. I was also wrong then to. I 'm starting to thing I 'm wrong a lot. I didn 't think they meant that friends and meeting new friends would be hard. Dealing with friend drama is really hard. Middle School isn 't just hard it 's impossible. Well almost impossible. Middle school has its ups and downs, well mostly downs if I 'm honest. As I was saying Middle School is hard I mean their is drama lots and lots of it. I mean their is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Math In Middle School Essay Math was not always difficult for me. It used to be a lot easier because I found that more of the basic math was easier. Now, I still used to basics of math, but i use them in a harder way now using letters and symbols. In middle school, I did struggle because my 7th grade teacher would just give us half sheets of word problems and equations on the thing we learned in the 6th grade. My 8th grade math teacher would give us packets and packets of examples on how to work but he would never teach us or explain how to solve the example problems. Basically, I struggled because it was never really explained to me how to solve equations and why we do that. I have always struggled with negative numbers but recently with khan I have been getting better Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Middle Childhood Essay examples Middle childhood is defined a number of ways, but perhaps best defined as the ages 6 to 12 years of age or prepubescent to pubescence Middle childhood is a challenging time and a major challenge is social constructs, as this is the earliest time when children begin to move away from parental influences and establish more meaningful peer and other adult relationships. It signifies a new set of social contacts with adults and other children as well as a wider variety of settings than those that characterize early childhood. Children begin to see themselves as a part of a bigger whole. Peer influences can become more powerful than the adults in the children's life and impact their sense of self. Grouping is established and teasing of others ...show more content... This methodology encompasses examining the child's life through many different contexts, such as: demography, history, sociology, biology, developmental psychology, and economics. ( w. website ) The Life Course Perspective takes the combination of the historical and social factors and sees them in an individual's course of personal development. A life course is defined as a sequence of socially defined events and roles that the individual enacts over time. ( W. website ) The theory loosely follows the sage old adage, "To know where you're going, you have to know where you have been." More precisely, the theory explains that the roles, events or transitions in an individual's life don't naturally progress in a structures order, but instead but create the sum of one's life experience. (website) Transitions play an important role in the life experience. Transitions are considered by the Life Course Perspective to be changes in roles and statuses that represent a distinct departure from prior roles and statuses. (page 14) They can affect a child in a myriad of ways: both positively and negatively and many center on the experience the child has in the family construct. The way that the child moves through these transitions can define their life trajectory and the choices later in life. An example of this can be seen in "The Season's of Life" series, Trey transitioned into a new Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay About Middle School Middle school was a lot of fun for me, I met a lot of new people and lots of new girls. It was also kinda tough in the beginning with switching classes and things and having so many different teachers and lots of homework from different classes and having to remember the room numbers of each class but eventually I got used to everything. My first day in middle school didn't seem that much different than elementary school only thing that was different was that we switched classes but we had our teachers telling us where to go for our next classes so it wasn't hard. On like the third day of middle school I was very confused because we had all the big 7th and 8th graders there and the teachers weren't helping us and telling bus where to go anymore so I would be late to class and my teachers would be mad. It was hard for me to transition to having several teachers instead of one because all of my teachers were very different we had some teachers that were cool and then we had some strict teachers. The work didn't get much harder math did but not any other subjects, math was very difficult...show more content... Some things I went through during my pre–adolescent was my legs would always hurt and I had found out I had something called osgood–schlatter disease and I had a big knot on my knee and it still hurts till this day sometimes. I eventually learned to deal with the pain but it kinda stopped my performance in track and football I wasn't as fast anymore I sometimes couldn't run because it would hurt so bad. Middle school was very fun though and it matured me a lot for high school I also learned a lot of things in middle school that have helped me in highschool I also still have some of my middle schools teachers now like Ms.Bowen that was my favorite teacher in middle school she was very cool. But that's how my middle school years Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Middle School Application Essay Sample Since submitting my original application to Berkeley back in November, I organized and took a leading role in a project called the Brown Middle School Health Sciences Pilot Program, a project which has been considerably meaningful to me and my growth as an individual, learner, and leader. As mentioned previously in my original application, I was perplexed by the seemingly never ending complexity of human anatomy, and I developed a love for medicine at an early age. Unfortunately, no classes or programs were offered by my middle school that explored these topics. Although my desire to seek the health sciences was fulfilled in high school, an opportunity to explore medicine at an even earlier age would have garnered even further success and would help me progress through my secondary education at a more focused rate. Now, as a senior in high school, I was given the opportunity to create a project to help my community in some way related to health sciences. I immediately formed a small team to organize a program to benefit my community educationally by giving middle schoolers the chance to explore medical careers and human anatomy, something I didn't have the chance to do myself at that age....show more content... Our vision for these lessons was to give the middle schoolers a candid perspective on the medical field, letting them know not just the benefits of becoming a doctor, but also the trials and tribulations they must undego. Furthermore, we wanted them to explore anatomy and medical procedures hands–on, rather than through books or videos. They were to learn how to suture on meshes that accurately simulated real skin, perform CPR on mannequins that gave real time feedback, measure and chart vitals of their partners, and cut into and explore organ specimens that reflected the structure of their human Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My Experience Of Middle School Most people go through Middle School without any problems and I wish I could say the same about my experience. But I can't. I was bullied a lot through Middle school. The students would comment about my weight and ask questions such as, "Why are you massive compared to your brother?" or, "Are you sure you don't need a custom made desk to fit into?" Soon enough, I got use to the name calling and payed little attention to it. However, I can't say the same about my self confidence. After core classes, we'd head to the locker room and get ready for Physical Education. I was always the last one to get dressed. Not because I was slow, but because I didn't want the other kids to see me take off my shirt. I was scared of potential humiliation. So, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Middle School Reflection Essay 8th grade was great I wasn't the youngest, I was in the oldest grade. At this point I had middle school perfectly handled. Going to high school and being a freshman is terrifying you're the smallest you don't know what a seminar B is and when you go to it. I loved middle school. I love high school; the only reason that I love it is because I have middle school to reflect off of. I have those experiences to help me have more. I use middle school to reflect and learn from everything that I did. I'm doing well in high school so far only because I have I have past experiences so that I can make choices that best benefit me now. Arnold Spirit from The Absolutely True Diary of a Part –Time Indian and the Narrator from "The Bass, The River and Sheila Mant" are reflective because they both took action while being unique making it much harder than necessary. At the end of it they learned a valuable lesson and made the best decision for themselves. Arnold shows reflect, reflects through his actions and his thoughts continuously throughout the book. "Drunk for a week, my father must have really wanted to spend those last five dollars. He could have spent that five bucks and stayed drunk for another day or two. But he saved it for me."(Alexie 151). He reflects off of his father resisting the urge. Resisting unacceptable habits for his son; the best way to show someone's love although the circumstances are unfortunate. Arnold has a hard time realizing that he is loved and that people do care about what happens to him. His dad saving a smelly five dollar bill from in his old boot was the best thing that he could've done for his son. Arnold reflects and sees just how much people care and that he does in fact have people to lean on for help. " Rowdy spun around and shoved me. "'Don't touch me, you retarded fag!' he yelled. My heart broke into fourteen pieces, one for every year that Rowdy and I been best friends."(Alexie 52). Arnold thinks long and hard about how everyone in his tribe will react to the fact that he's leaving the Reservation. He realizes that if he thought he was getting beaten up plenty before then people would beat him to death. He weighs out the unsatisfactory factors and he knows that it will Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. My Experience At Middle School In middle school, 5th to 8th grade, I endure multiple adjective to describe my experience in middle school. While in Middle School, I struggle with my appearance which has stayed as an adult. For I always look at myself and all the flaws in my features, as my family members and/or friends state my beauty features, I will brushed them off by stating the negative feature I visually observe. Until recently, I've overcome my inability of reading in public and/or to my peers. As my cousin passed away tragically, his mother (my Aunt) asked if I will read his poem to her and a group of 50 strangers. She knew my fear of public speaking, she also knew my dream of becoming a teacher and starting to a career as a substitute teacher. Therefore, she knew I needed to overcome the fear of speaking. I am extremely pleased with myself to speak clearly and to have the strength and encouragement of my family to overcome my greatest fear with a poem in dedication to my beloved cousin. In 5th grade, my insecurity resulted in myself being bullied by others for my appearance which I expressed still affects myself as an adult. When conduction presentation as I displayed unconfident with my appearances, therefore in English, I failed behind. I would hid in a corner and during reading groups, and when asked to read, I would stutter and/or have an excuse for not being able to read. In 6th grade, being shy and not able to talk to others as I being afraid of what they thought and would say as the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Informative Essay On Middle School During my eighth grade year in middle school I had one of the magnificent teachers ever, Mr. Gendron. He's was my Avid and a math teacher. He would also teach everyone what was right and wrong. Teaching everyone what they can do to succeed, asking if they needed someone to talk to, he was as a counselor to me. Whenever he would see someone changing their way to be he would know something was going on, it was as he had superpowers. He believed that we could work hard enough to succeed. He had hope on us whatsoever. Failing wasn't an option for us, he would try his best to make us understand the lesson. Making us learn each problem step–by–step. Many significant memories in my eighth grade year, but the special ones are with Mr. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. My Life Of My Middle School Years My middle school years was not a very easy chapter in my life, but the past three years have defined me a lot. I'm an iceberg type of person; you can see a little bit of me on the surface, but the real part, the bigger part of me, is hidden. I don't show all my colors at once. I keep myself clamped shut, too cautious to share myself with other people. I've learned early in life that some people's stories just briefly entwined with mine before we part ways forever. I learned that everything in life in temporary, and that made me hesitate to get to know people well–after all, what's the point when you just have to leave? Now, I know better. These three years have really shaped who I am. Even though everything isn't permanent, it's the moments, the little snapshots that count. Life is short; moments are fleeting, but memories last forever in the book of life. It's a journey, and every moment has a significant impact on me. My theme is "Page by Page", which means that I am writing my own story. Whatever has happened through these years, I have chosen my own path. We are the authors of our own life, and I'm just at the beginning. Page by page, we create the life that we live in. Even through all the hardships, my middle school years have been altogether the best experience I could ever have. In sixth grade, I was almost meek, preferring to stay in the shadows and read a book than converse with other students. Everything was so strange, and at first, it was quite overwhelming. • 15. Middle School Teacher Essay As children start middle school they become more than a follower of their parents, they start really growing into their own person. Middle school is a time when children start to have their own opinions and beliefs. It is a time when they begin following their friends and developing habits that can last a time. It is a time when they start puberty and have many physical and emotional changes. The middle school years are a time when young adolescents create the foundation of who they will be as individuals and that will mold their entire lives. Due to all of these changes and all of this growth middle school is a fundamental time in a young adolescents' life. Children are moving from narrowed schedules and minimum yearly teachers at...show more content... I believe that may have been lost within reorganization, but as a teacher I want to do my best to provide an education that "develops good people" as John Arnold stated (Arnold, p. 101). This means help the children grow up into people with character, attitude, values, and integrity. I plan to be a teacher that will use progressive measures to focus on the whole child and not simply raising test scores. I know test scores are important to schools and to policies and regulation, so I will not lose focus on that. In my lesson plans I will do my best to include pieces that will have them think about real world situations and what they feel about it, such as a research and writing assignment regarding plastics in the ocean. An assignment like that would help their research skills and writing skills, while also introducing them to an actual problem in the world. I believe this is the type of assignments I will use as much as possible to help my future students work on their writing skills, grammar skills, and reading skills, plus practice real life skills and thinking about how the world works and their opinions about it. Continuing with being a teaching that the students need, I feel having a curriculum that is beneficial to the students is crucial in the learning experience. I believe in providing a personalized integrated curriculum. The only way to do this is to get to know my students and use what they connect to in the classroom Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Interview With Middle School Principal Essay An effective school leader possesses skills to create, implement, evaluate, improve and share a staff development plan. I met with Ben Rhodes, Sandy Creek Middle School's principal, to interview him on the specific elements of his yearly staff development plan. A variety of activities for teaching new skills to teachers occurs throughout the year. Mr. Rhodes uses the district Teaching Learning Cycle (Plan–Teach–Monitor– Adjust) to evaluate and assess the learning goals and make improvements. Ben also meets with Ben and the leadership team about the goals and creates the timeline to provide training and analyze progress. Evaluation of the learning goals using the SIP (as a living document) and individual goals are important Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. My First Day Of Middle School Essay "Dad c'mon we're going to be late," I jumped into our families suv with a fresh cup of coffee in hand, slammed the door and started up the Honda Pilot. I looked to my right seeing my spouse before looking over my shoulder to the looks of my son placing his book bag on the floor, it was his first day of middle school and I couldn 't be more nervous for him. He was slightly anxious to get there on time, as was I. Flying out of our neighborhood as we started to drive towards this new chapter in our families lives, I could only stop and think back of a moment that helped shape me into who I am today... I was so nervous to start middle school... Oh My God. Middle school is the time I think when parents utterly question the whole reason why they had unprotected sex in the beginning. Your body goes through such an awkward state of being, puberty. Ugh, just saying the word makes me cringe, just like my voice did for the longest time. You could say I was the definition of a "late bloomer," my mind was advancing and I was growing taller but never gained any muscle, facial hair or balls dropping, unlike the other boys. Middle school was this transitional period where boys and girls started to get interested in each other, the whole "cootie" phase was over and now they started to either get physical or at least think they were getting physical with one another. I had one "girlfriend" throughout middle school and lets be honest, she wasn't my girlfriend. Let's get something Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. My Accomplishments In Middle School I have several notable accomplishments, most of them are of academics. Some of the awards/accomplishments that I can recall ever since I was in middle school are: First position on spelling contest, department award for the most Helpful student, Student of the quarter, Presidential award for educational excellence (Gold Seal), 4.0 Honor roll, Indian Classical dance, Achieve3000 state winner, department award for "Excellence in English Language Acquisition," and Academic Excellence Lettering Award. Among all these awards and recognition, I consider Achieve3000 to be the greatest because it was a state level competition and was moderately competitive to win. In the Achieve3000 program, basically, an individual has to compete with the students Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Personal Narrative: Elementary And Middle School Elementary and middle school was a very interesting experience for me. The school I attended from kindergarten to 8th grade was a diverse school. I had a lot of ups and downs while going there. Overall being there allowed me to grow as a person and introduced me to different things. It also help me achieve high in academics. Growing up black in living in what they call "the hood" I was so use to being around just African Americans. Attending aschool with a variety of races was something different for me and had a huge impact on me. I had an opportunity to learn more about other cultures and I feel that was a good thing because I could see their culture from my own point of view. It also helped me grow personally and made...show more content... In 4–6 grade the boys in my class used to pick on me all the time about my size. At that school there wasn't many blacks and most of the girls there were petite. My "thickness" or "big bones" was considered fat to them. Being called out my name had me a little insecure and really affected my feelings. However I grew up and stop caring what anybody has to say about me and gained a great amount of confidence. Lastly, I grew academically. My growth in my academics really occurred great my 8th grade year. I struggled a lot in science my whole time in school but however in 8th grade I had made a huge improvement, even was two questions away from getting commanded on STAAR. Actually my teachers for all four core classes taught me a lot and I didn't even realize it until I made it to high school. Their teachings helped me get through high school somewhat easier. All in all, I feel that being at a diverse school had an impact on me. I learned so much from being at that school and also met some nice people. There are so things I wish I could've changed but it's always good to learn from mistakes. Without any of this, I would be who I am Get more content on HelpWriting.net
