Old Quebec City is special to visit due to its culture, history and architecture that have been preserved from when the city was founded in 1608. Some of the iconic sites include the Chateau Frontenac hotel, the ramparts surrounding the old city, and Notre Dame Basilica, which showcases the early architecture still intact in the city. The streets and food also provide a glimpse into Quebec's French heritage. Planning is important for travel to another country, including having proper identification documents like a passport.
