Subject: Fabulous Experience - Thank You!
Mr. Smith -
I wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how incredibly helpful your staff was today. I
spoke with a gentleman named Paul who got me in the right hands and a woman named Abby
who helped me cancel my reservation.
I know that hearing someone had to cancel their reservation probably isn't ideal, and in my case
it was a decision I had to make because I recently made the tough decision to leave my job and
can't justify a hotel room when I can couch surf with an old friend from college. The company I
had booked through was a complete challenge dealing with in trying to make this change, even
knowing the situation I was in, but your staff was lovely and understanding.
Both Abby and Paul went out of their way to be helpful and kind even before they knew my
circumstances, and that says a lot about the business you run and the way you treat you
employees. What neither of them know is that I am coming to Milwaukee from NYC to receive
a Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD) award from UWM and that I am hugely tied to the
Milwaukee community. Also, the company I just left was one that I helped build from the ground
up and was the fastest growing retail brand in the past year, with much success being attributed
to how well we treated our customers that interacted with the brand. Given this experience, I
will happily continue to use Intercontinental Hotels as my brand of choice, as well as spread the
good word about your location to all of the fellow alumni I interact with.
Thank you to your team for going above and beyond, and showing that there are still brands
within the hospitality industry that really do care.
All the best,
Betsy Leonhardt

“FANTASTIC”
We chose the InterContinental Milwaukee for a ladies' night and could not have been more
pleased with our experience. Great downtown location, easy to find off I-94, valet parking
(underground, right at the hotel...super easy to access).
The staff was wonderful (the doormen, front desk team, room service, bar staff & management
were all delightful -- special thanks to PAUL W., front office supervisor, for making sure we
had everything we needed and simply THE BEST time!)
The king suite with sitting area: perfect for entertaining our small group of 6. We had drinks &
room service (bacon-wrapped Medjool dates with salsa roja [omg, divine!], Caesar salads,
Wisconsin burger on pretzel roll w/thin, salty fries).
The corner king suite (my room) was ultra-deluxe and tranquil...very clean, spacious,
comfortable bed (w/half a dozen pillows!), gorgeous view (mentioned above), nice amenities.
Hotel is located within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, Starbucks, Einstein Bagels,
etc. For late fun, we enjoyed CLEAR, the in-lobby bar and lounge at InterContinental Mke
(again, kudos to PAUL W. for a handful of free drinks and just all-around excellent hospitality).
OH, and there is a CHOCOLATE candy & fondue bar in the lounge on Friday & Saturday
nights...HELLO! We had a few chocolate truffles and a fabulous key lime tart. There's an
espresso station at CLEAR as well, where you can get a really nice after-dinner cappuccino or
espresso con panna.
I'd stay here every weekend if I could! So nice.
Great accomodations, great people, but......
The room was wonderful, the people were super friendly and helpful. Probably the most
comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I was in town for several days so I took advantage of the
same day laundry service. Unfortunately, my laundry was lost and I ended up in the same clothes
for two days. Apparently my laundry was returned to the wrong room which wasn't discovered
until the afternoon after I checked out. They called me to let me know they would be shipping
my clothes to me, so in the end I went home in two day old clothes and a promise of a reduced
rate next time. I know it was an accident but it was the kind of thing you wouldn't expect at a
hotel of this caliber. The night manager, Paul, was gracious and apologetic and I appreciated
that. I'll most likely return as this is a preferred property of my employer, but will be hesitant to
utilize the outside services.

“WOW!!”
Came to Milwaukee for a friend's wedding;
Prior to my arrival I had received an email from the Front Office Supervisor, Paul, asking if I
needed directions, recommendations for dinner, etc...great touch! I had casually emailed back
that I might need a local's tip for a place to enjoy a late-night beverage as I was also celebrating a
birthday.
Upon arrival at the hotel, I was greeted by a great bellstaff, valet, and doorman crew...Matt and
Ryan out in front of the hotel welcomed my wife and I like they knew the minute we were
expected to arrive. Being a little early in the day, we were expecting to have to change for the
wedding in a lobby restroom, but the front desk staff (a very cheerful duo...Tim and Ashley?)
said they had our room ready for us and we could check in immediately (things are going really
well now!).
Our room was a spacious, clean, modern, King Executive which featured a comfortable sitting
area, two large flat-panel t.v.'s and a HUUUGE window looking out over the city.
A few minutes later, while relaxing in the lobby before we left for the wedding, the Front Desk
Supervisor, Paul, came over to welcome us to the hotel and see if we needed anything...(how in
the *#$% did he know who we were?!?! Very classy!)
Due to the proximity of the wedding venue, the fact that taxis were a bit scarce right at the time,
and the fact we had a rather large, cumbersome gift to transport, Paul arranged for Matt to drive
us over to the venue in the hotel's beautiful SUV...(okay, things are beyond smoooth at this
point)
Enjoyed a great night celebrating the wedding, and came back to our room to find that Tim,
Ashley, and Paul had arranged for a nice little evening birthday surprise and a card signed by
several staff members....SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? A birthday card from the staff?!?!?
The next morning, got up early and had to head home...as soon as we stepped off the elevator, I
noticed many of the same staff were back for the next day's work, busily going about their
duites....EVERY one of them stopped/came over to us, and all of them asked "did we enjoy the
wedding", "how was your stay", "happy birthday", etc. Tim and Ashley were at the desk again
and wished me a great day...(it already has been...after 25 minutes!!) One of the valets out front
shook my hand, wished me a great day, and then teased me about "seeing me out a little late for
an old guy"...just awesome! LOVED the personal touches from EVERYONE!
I have actually NEVER written a hotel review before as I guess I just EXPECT a clean room, a
fair price, moderately nice staff, edible food, etc, etc...I don't bother to write a review if I don't
receive these things, I just don't go back...sorry, hotels, and sorry Trip Advisor.
As such, I hesitated to write this review as there were so many people that were fantastic, I don't
want to miss anyone, but I felt I owed a "thank you" to everyone for my experience; The lounge
bartender on Saturday afternoon and again later that night, the bellstaff (ALL of them...and I
hope you never have to buy Matt a pair of driving gloves), the room attendants we passed in the
hallways...EVERY one of them was cheerful, welcoming, and seemed genuinely happy to be
there and to take care of their guests. Special thanks to Paul, as I have an idea he probably got
the ball rolling on all of this.
To wrap this up, the hotel is already a great hotel...it is everything that the Intercontinental brand
SHOULD be; clean, modern, great lobby, great rooms, great amenities, great location, etc.
What makes any hotel in the world even better is the people inside it....kudos to the entire team at
the Intercontinental, Milwaukee for being just that..."world class"!!
Not to "name drop" but I have enjoyed staying at properties such as The American Club, The
Wynn, Coronado, etc, etc...this stay ranked up there with experiences I had at world-renowned
hotels....AWESOME!
There is no doubt I will see all of you soon..planning a return trip to enjoy your great downtown!
Again, sincerest "thank you's" to EVERYONE...
A special note to the G.M: You have something to be very proud of!

“Paul Whitlock's Fabulous Service”
Every winter I travel to Milwaukee for a group trip with college friends for a Marquette
University basketball game. There are several hotels in the area but this is hands down the best
stay for a weekend. The staff is polite and is a great guide for the area. We have been staying
there for the past 5 years. In those 5 years I have recommended The Intercontinental to the point
where we have 15-20 people in our group staying there. We had breakfast at Kil@watt which
was fantastic with once again, great prompt and personable service. Any time I travel to
Milwaukee I will stay there for sure. Thanks to all the staff!

“Repeated Excellence”
I stayed at the InterContinental Milwaukee for the second time this past weekend. We traveled
last year for a friend's birthday and wanted to repeat our wonderful Experience. They once again
exceeded our expectations. The hotel has a beautiful classy feel, is very clean and the staff is so
friendly especially Bryant Banda the Front Office Manager and Paul Whitlock the Front Office
Supervisor. Even though there was another large event happening at the same time we stayed,
everyone went out of their way to make us feel special.

“Fantastic Service, Beautiful and Modern Hotel, Great Location!”
My girlfriend and I spent a week at the Intercontinental Milwaukee in July 2012. I was very
pleased with the extremely friendly hotel staff, the fantastic workout facility, the ping pong table
in the lobby (played for hours...it's in a great spot, near the bar and the nightclub so you can
enjoy the music while you're playing) the location is central to a lot of things downtown (public
market, the waterfront...Summerfest was walking distance!) and there are several restaurants
nearby and a block to Starbucks...) The hotel is beautifully decorated, modern, very clean...our
room was spacious and we had a great view from the 9th floor. The king size bed was very
comfortable...We had maps printed by the extremely helpful concierge desk, the bartenders were
down to earth, good conversationalists and mixed some mean cocktails...fun...Parking was free
in a secure underground garage connected to the hotel. The front staff was also very
friendly...Our favorite front desk employee, Paul was fantastic...He was professional, gave us a
complimentary breakfast coupon that we used on our last morning...A breakfast to die for in the
hotel restaurant, which is 5 star...Excellent...I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Milwaukee and I
would definitely return to this hotel. Thank you to all those folks responsible for making sure
that the most minute details are attended to...we appreciated that!

Dear Mr. Smith:
To visit our son and his family, my wife and I visit Milwaukee often. However, we had not
stayed in Intercontinental until early this month. This is to let you know about our remarkable
experience there. Among your staff, Mr. Paul Whitlock was especially gracious and helpful. He
went out of his way to assist us not only about Intercontinental but also the Milwaukee
downtown. He was instrumental in realizing our unforgettable experience at Intercontinental.
With best wishes.

“I've been around, and this hotel is awesome!!!!”
I've been traveling to Milwaukee three times this month. This is my first time at the
Intercontinental and wow they are good!! I was a checked in by two hot front desk guys, Paul
W. and Theo. I was checked in so fast and they gave me a king size bed with a smile on their
face. My husband and I practically live in hotels and we are both smiling large! We love our
room, very spacious and they have great lemon soap. I requested towels and they came right up.
We then went to the bar for happy hour. Our beautiful waitress, Elizabeth, gave me the best
vanilla martini that I have ever had. We are so pleased that we thinking of extending our 4 day
stay to 6. This place feels good and the service is all smiles. Thank you so much for this
experience. We are staying longer and will return. God bless you all.

“Excellent Hotel”
My husband and I arrived in Milwaukee on Sept 7th with no reservation. We wanted to stay in a
central location within walking distance to major attractions. We selected the Intercontinental
because of its location and attractive price. Upon arrival a room was available. We checked in
with Paul Whitlock who was absolutely wonderful!!! He gave us great ideas to explore the city.
The hotel was beautiful. Shortly after our arrival, Paul sent us a lovely anniversary card and
champagne, chocolates and breakfast for 2 as a comp gift. Extremely thoughtful of him. All of
the staff was most helpful and exceeded our expectations in every way. We enjoyed our first
night so much that we decided to stay a second. We walked everywhere and didn't even take the
car out of the ramp for the entire stay. Thanks for a great time.

“Second Home”
I have been traveling to Milwaukee for work and have stayed at the InterContinental almost
every week for the last year and a half. This hotel is like my second home. The staff at the front
desk is fantastic and most of them know me by name, which makes me feel appreciated when I
walk up to check in. Paul is almost always there to help me (and always cheerful and smiling)
and goes out of his way to do tedious tasks for me like schedule all my reservations for the next
six months. Kerry and Bryant are also great and have helped me out on numerous occasions.
Thank you, everybody!

“Best hotel in Milwaukee”
1 person found this review helpful
I had to travel to Milwaukee twice over the past month for business, and can certainly say that
the InterContinental is one of the best properties in the city. From the moment one of the bellmen
opened my taxi door to the moment I checked out, I was greeted with professionalism, sincerity,
excellent service, and barely had to wait for anything.
Check-In was a breeze (my desk agents were Paul and Ericka - great team, really friendly and
nice to talk to) and easy, my room was ready to go without any delay. Room was great (I was
upgraded to a King Executive), and even appeared to be two rooms (one room has a couple
couches and a TV, but feels like a mini-suite - cute!). Bathroom was clean and spacious. One
note: the king bed linens are SOOO comfortable!! Housekeeping was great - never had any
problems.

“Highly recommend this great hotel”
1 person found this review helpful
Our great experience started prior to our arrival. Resheeda helped us get our room request and
was a joy to talk to. We brought her an apple fritter from Colorado to express our thanks. From
the moment we checked in, we received outstanding service from Paul. He gave us stellar
recommendations for places to eat and things to do. When we returned to the hotel, he
remembered our names and was standing at the ready to help us. We felt like old friends. The
room where we stayed was clean, very comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The bed was so
comfy and the linens were amazing. We stayed four nights. The hotel is in a great location. We
were able to park on the street after 6pm at no cost, we simply had to call the city with our
license plate and car location. The car must be moved by 8am the next morning. We also enjoyed
an amazing breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. We are very happy with this hotel, and the
wonderful people including Paul, Resheeda, and Brenda. We are looking forward to when we
can come back and stay longer. We highly recommend this hotel.

“Marvelous Stay at the Intercontiental Hotel in Milwaukee”
I had the wonderful experience to stay at this hotel for Mother's Day Weekend. The chocolate
bar on Saturday evening was superb. The staff are delightful, warm and welcoming and very
helpful, particularly Paul Whitlock at the front desk was most helpful with Milwaukee's
Mother's Day Events and reserving our beautiful room for this weekend. We enjoyed breakfast in
the Hotel dining area and it was out of this world for selection and goodness. I most definitely
will stay there again and recommend the place to all my friends.

“Fantastic Stay at the Intercontinental MKE”
1 person found this review helpful
I had the fortunate experience to stay at the intercontinental for 3 weeks as part of a business trip.
Aside from the fact that my Wifey was back home in Australia- it was like a home away from
home. Let me break down some of the features of this hotel
Service/Staff- I cannot commend the staff at this hotel enough. Each time I stepped into the
lobby I was greeted with by a staff member. The restaurant staff was exceptionally impressive as
I found myself arriving at my table, not more than 10 seconds before my morning tea was there
to greet me. Each enquiry at the front desk was dealt with rapidly and it seemed that every
enquiry become a personal mission of the front desk staff to get the best possible result!
To be honest, there are a lot of people and services at this hotel that I literally miss interacting
with (Paul, Maisy, Lucas, John, Travodis to name a few) and I'm very much looking to my
return there later in the year.

“So enjoyable, we want to go back!!!”
My friend and I drove from Northern Michigan to see the Tony Bennett concert. Our first
experience was a very friendly Bellman, named Daniel. He welcomed us with a big smile with a
very friendly attitude. He helped us with our luggage, and showed us to our room. Paul & J
assisted us at the front desk and made us feel just as welcomed.

“5 Stars!!”
1 person found this review helpful
This New Year’s Eve, my significant other and I wanted to 'get away' and do something
different. I have heard many good things about this hotel and was excited to try it out for myself.
Now, I must preempt this review by saying that I have had the privilege of staying (and working)
in some of the country's most extravagant hotels, so I can be very picky when it comes to
comfort and service. My experience at the Intercontinental was nothing short of amazing.
As soon as we entered the finely decorated building, we were greeted warmly by the staff. Our
front desk agent Paul was attentive, helpful, informative and friendly.

“Awesome Romantic Birthday Get Away”
Every year I try to find an escape for my wife and I on her birthday, which is Dec 23! The mad
rush of Christmas and the anxiousness of getting everything done before the bell of midnight;
Dec 24th is always a hassle. This year I choose to go to a play which we have never experienced
together and find a nearby hotel in Milwaukee close to the theater. I surfed the Internet an found
the intercontinental Milwaukee a nice looking hotel from the ad on the net. Our plan was to drive
up to Milwaukee which is 30 min away from Racine and have lunch then check into the hotel at
3pm, our plan was going well! When we got to the hotel that's when our experience went from
well to great . The hotel was even more beautiful than the photos, the ambience was just let me
say "awesome ". I could tell my wife was pleased and that means I would get a "great job baby".
Then the event got even better' we was assisted by Paul W the guest services associate that not
only politely checked us in, but offered an upgrade to a suite for only $30 more! Well of course
this was a no brainier and I was doing extremely well by the wife :) But it does not stop there ,
when we got to our room and saw how extremely nice it was well let's say I was the Man!! Yet
there is more! 30 minutes later room service brought up a free bottle of champagne an a box of
chocolates on the house!! I could not believe ,free!! It keeps getting better not only did Paul take
care of the room service but he got us complimentary breakfast for the morning! Wow, Paul
really did ensure we had a great time. We had dinner and a night cap in the Intercontinental (We
felt like we were 25 again). The entire ambience of this hotel and Paul of course will ensure we
come back again and again for a get away from the kids and a little us time. Thank You Paul and
intercontinental for a wonderful birthday for my wife and I :)

“Fun time! Great Staff!”
I went to the Intercontinental Hotel for a birthday celebration. We ended up at the Zen Den (bar
and dancing). The music was good. The crowd was friendly and the martinis are excellent.
Turns out I lost my wallet and didn't even know it (never happened before) until one of the staff
from the front desk, Paul Whitlock, went out of his way to contact me to inform me he had my
wallet. I consider that EXCELLENT customer service.

“Our best stay in Milwaukee yet!”
Recently my wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Intercontinental hotel in downtown
Milwaukee. The staff here is truly amazing and made our stay so much more enjoyable. Paul at
the front desk started our stay off on a positive and up-beat note. He was more than willing to
accommodate a few specific requests that we had and upgraded us on the spot to the pink room
(for breast cancer awareness) at my wife's request. Needless to say she loved the pink decor and
accents throughout the room, thanks Paul!

“Great Location!”
We love taking weekend trips to Milwaukee in the fall. It has a beautiful downtown, and an
outstanding museum right on Lake Michigan. This hotel is walking distance from the Public
Market and the Third Ward. One of the nicest things about it is its gracious staff. We just
celebrated our 32nd anniversary at the hotel. Paul upgraded our room for a nominal fee and sent
us an excellent box of chocolates and a bottle of sparkling wine. Thanks!!

“Fabulous stay! Paul W. went out of his way to accommodate my family.”
My husband and 1 year old son were hotel guests at the IC Milwaukee for 2 nights as part of a
large group for a wedding celebration (that was also held at the IC.)
Upon check-in, we were greeted with welcoming arms and smiles and at the front desk Paul
went out of his way to accommodate us.
We were given a fabulous room that had a small separate area so that once we put the baby to
bed, we were able to relax in the other section of the room and enjoy the amenities.
Each time we entered and exited the beautiful hotel, whether it was Paul who noticed my small
family of 3 or another front desk worker, we were assisted with directions, suggestions, and
stellar customer service.
I would highly recommend this hotel to my family and friends in the future, and compared to
other hotels I have stayed at in Milwaukee where I visit perhaps once every few years, this is the
only place I will continue to give my business to.
Thank you again, Paul!

  • 1. Reviews From: Betsy Leonhardt [mailto:betsy.leonhardt@gmail.com] To: Tim Smith (General Manager) Subject: Fabulous Experience - Thank You! Mr. Smith - I wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how incredibly helpful your staff was today. I spoke with a gentleman named Paul who got me in the right hands and a woman named Abby who helped me cancel my reservation. I know that hearing someone had to cancel their reservation probably isn't ideal, and in my case it was a decision I had to make because I recently made the tough decision to leave my job and can't justify a hotel room when I can couch surf with an old friend from college. The company I had booked through was a complete challenge dealing with in trying to make this change, even knowing the situation I was in, but your staff was lovely and understanding. Both Abby and Paul went out of their way to be helpful and kind even before they knew my circumstances, and that says a lot about the business you run and the way you treat you employees. What neither of them know is that I am coming to Milwaukee from NYC to receive a Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD) award from UWM and that I am hugely tied to the Milwaukee community. Also, the company I just left was one that I helped build from the ground up and was the fastest growing retail brand in the past year, with much success being attributed to how well we treated our customers that interacted with the brand. Given this experience, I will happily continue to use Intercontinental Hotels as my brand of choice, as well as spread the good word about your location to all of the fellow alumni I interact with. Thank you to your team for going above and beyond, and showing that there are still brands within the hospitality industry that really do care. All the best, Betsy Leonhardt xinzi Milwaukee, WI 2 reviews Reviews in 2 cities
  • 2. “FANTASTIC” We chose the InterContinental Milwaukee for a ladies' night and could not have been more pleased with our experience. Great downtown location, easy to find off I-94, valet parking (underground, right at the hotel...super easy to access). The staff was wonderful (the doormen, front desk team, room service, bar staff & management were all delightful -- special thanks to PAUL W., front office supervisor, for making sure we had everything we needed and simply THE BEST time!) The king suite with sitting area: perfect for entertaining our small group of 6. We had drinks & room service (bacon-wrapped Medjool dates with salsa roja [omg, divine!], Caesar salads, Wisconsin burger on pretzel roll w/thin, salty fries). The corner king suite (my room) was ultra-deluxe and tranquil...very clean, spacious, comfortable bed (w/half a dozen pillows!), gorgeous view (mentioned above), nice amenities. Hotel is located within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, Starbucks, Einstein Bagels, etc. For late fun, we enjoyed CLEAR, the in-lobby bar and lounge at InterContinental Mke (again, kudos to PAUL W. for a handful of free drinks and just all-around excellent hospitality). OH, and there is a CHOCOLATE candy & fondue bar in the lounge on Friday & Saturday nights...HELLO! We had a few chocolate truffles and a fabulous key lime tart. There's an espresso station at CLEAR as well, where you can get a really nice after-dinner cappuccino or espresso con panna. I'd stay here every weekend if I could! So nice. Great accomodations, great people, but...... The room was wonderful, the people were super friendly and helpful. Probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I was in town for several days so I took advantage of the same day laundry service. Unfortunately, my laundry was lost and I ended up in the same clothes for two days. Apparently my laundry was returned to the wrong room which wasn't discovered until the afternoon after I checked out. They called me to let me know they would be shipping my clothes to me, so in the end I went home in two day old clothes and a promise of a reduced rate next time. I know it was an accident but it was the kind of thing you wouldn't expect at a hotel of this caliber. The night manager, Paul, was gracious and apologetic and I appreciated that. I'll most likely return as this is a preferred property of my employer, but will be hesitant to utilize the outside services. - by pwuensch
  • 3. Jason S Oshkosh, Wisconsin 1 review 3 helpful votes “WOW!!” Came to Milwaukee for a friend's wedding; Prior to my arrival I had received an email from the Front Office Supervisor, Paul, asking if I needed directions, recommendations for dinner, etc...great touch! I had casually emailed back that I might need a local's tip for a place to enjoy a late-night beverage as I was also celebrating a birthday. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was greeted by a great bellstaff, valet, and doorman crew...Matt and Ryan out in front of the hotel welcomed my wife and I like they knew the minute we were expected to arrive. Being a little early in the day, we were expecting to have to change for the wedding in a lobby restroom, but the front desk staff (a very cheerful duo...Tim and Ashley?) said they had our room ready for us and we could check in immediately (things are going really well now!). Our room was a spacious, clean, modern, King Executive which featured a comfortable sitting area, two large flat-panel t.v.'s and a HUUUGE window looking out over the city. A few minutes later, while relaxing in the lobby before we left for the wedding, the Front Desk Supervisor, Paul, came over to welcome us to the hotel and see if we needed anything...(how in the *#$% did he know who we were?!?! Very classy!) Due to the proximity of the wedding venue, the fact that taxis were a bit scarce right at the time, and the fact we had a rather large, cumbersome gift to transport, Paul arranged for Matt to drive us over to the venue in the hotel's beautiful SUV...(okay, things are beyond smoooth at this point) Enjoyed a great night celebrating the wedding, and came back to our room to find that Tim, Ashley, and Paul had arranged for a nice little evening birthday surprise and a card signed by several staff members....SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? A birthday card from the staff?!?!? The next morning, got up early and had to head home...as soon as we stepped off the elevator, I noticed many of the same staff were back for the next day's work, busily going about their duites....EVERY one of them stopped/came over to us, and all of them asked "did we enjoy the wedding", "how was your stay", "happy birthday", etc. Tim and Ashley were at the desk again and wished me a great day...(it already has been...after 25 minutes!!) One of the valets out front shook my hand, wished me a great day, and then teased me about "seeing me out a little late for an old guy"...just awesome! LOVED the personal touches from EVERYONE!
  • 4. I have actually NEVER written a hotel review before as I guess I just EXPECT a clean room, a fair price, moderately nice staff, edible food, etc, etc...I don't bother to write a review if I don't receive these things, I just don't go back...sorry, hotels, and sorry Trip Advisor. As such, I hesitated to write this review as there were so many people that were fantastic, I don't want to miss anyone, but I felt I owed a "thank you" to everyone for my experience; The lounge bartender on Saturday afternoon and again later that night, the bellstaff (ALL of them...and I hope you never have to buy Matt a pair of driving gloves), the room attendants we passed in the hallways...EVERY one of them was cheerful, welcoming, and seemed genuinely happy to be there and to take care of their guests. Special thanks to Paul, as I have an idea he probably got the ball rolling on all of this. To wrap this up, the hotel is already a great hotel...it is everything that the Intercontinental brand SHOULD be; clean, modern, great lobby, great rooms, great amenities, great location, etc. What makes any hotel in the world even better is the people inside it....kudos to the entire team at the Intercontinental, Milwaukee for being just that..."world class"!! Not to "name drop" but I have enjoyed staying at properties such as The American Club, The Wynn, Coronado, etc, etc...this stay ranked up there with experiences I had at world-renowned hotels....AWESOME! There is no doubt I will see all of you soon..planning a return trip to enjoy your great downtown! Again, sincerest "thank you's" to EVERYONE... A special note to the G.M: You have something to be very proud of! The dessert bar on Saturday night in the lobby bar was a lot of fun. Loved the breakfast in Kilowatt on Sunday morning. We will be back! Katy H Burr Ridge, Illinois, United States 1 review “Paul Whitlock's Fabulous Service” Every winter I travel to Milwaukee for a group trip with college friends for a Marquette University basketball game. There are several hotels in the area but this is hands down the best stay for a weekend. The staff is polite and is a great guide for the area. We have been staying there for the past 5 years. In those 5 years I have recommended The Intercontinental to the point where we have 15-20 people in our group staying there. We had breakfast at Kil@watt which was fantastic with once again, great prompt and personable service. Any time I travel to Milwaukee I will stay there for sure. Thanks to all the staff! Verified Hotel Guest from St. Louis, MO February 11, 2013 Family Traveling with Teens 8.0 One staff member, Paul, went out of his way to help us w/a problem we had viewing a movie. When he couldn't solve it he comped our breakfast bill and checked back with us several times. We were very impressed with his high level of service.

We traveled last year for a friend's birthday and wanted to repeat our wonderful Experience. They once again exceeded our expectations. The hotel has a beautiful classy feel, is very clean and the staff is so friendly especially Bryant Banda the Front Office Manager and Paul Whitlock the Front Office Supervisor. Even though there was another large event happening at the same time we stayed, everyone went out of their way to make us feel special. petemandel Anchorage, Alaska 2 reviews Reviews in 2 cities “Fantastic Service, Beautiful and Modern Hotel, Great Location!” My girlfriend and I spent a week at the Intercontinental Milwaukee in July 2012. I was very pleased with the extremely friendly hotel staff, the fantastic workout facility, the ping pong table in the lobby (played for hours...it's in a great spot, near the bar and the nightclub so you can enjoy the music while you're playing) the location is central to a lot of things downtown (public market, the waterfront...Summerfest was walking distance!) and there are several restaurants nearby and a block to Starbucks...) The hotel is beautifully decorated, modern, very clean...our room was spacious and we had a great view from the 9th floor. The king size bed was very comfortable...We had maps printed by the extremely helpful concierge desk, the bartenders were down to earth, good conversationalists and mixed some mean cocktails...fun...Parking was free in a secure underground garage connected to the hotel. The front staff was also very friendly...Our favorite front desk employee, Paul was fantastic...He was professional, gave us a complimentary breakfast coupon that we used on our last morning...A breakfast to die for in the hotel restaurant, which is 5 star...Excellent...I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Milwaukee and I would definitely return to this hotel. Thank you to all those folks responsible for making sure that the most minute details are attended to...we appreciated that!

  • 8. I've been traveling to Milwaukee three times this month. This is my first time at the Intercontinental and wow they are good!! I was a checked in by two hot front desk guys, Paul W. and Theo. I was checked in so fast and they gave me a king size bed with a smile on their face. My husband and I practically live in hotels and we are both smiling large! We love our room, very spacious and they have great lemon soap. I requested towels and they came right up. We then went to the bar for happy hour. Our beautiful waitress, Elizabeth, gave me the best vanilla martini that I have ever had. We are so pleased that we thinking of extending our 4 day stay to 6. This place feels good and the service is all smiles. Thank you so much for this experience. We are staying longer and will return. God bless you all. Amy939 Saint Paul, Minnesota 1 review “Excellent Hotel” My husband and I arrived in Milwaukee on Sept 7th with no reservation. We wanted to stay in a central location within walking distance to major attractions. We selected the Intercontinental because of its location and attractive price. Upon arrival a room was available. We checked in with Paul Whitlock who was absolutely wonderful!!! He gave us great ideas to explore the city. The hotel was beautiful. Shortly after our arrival, Paul sent us a lovely anniversary card and champagne, chocolates and breakfast for 2 as a comp gift. Extremely thoughtful of him. All of the staff was most helpful and exceeded our expectations in every way. We enjoyed our first night so much that we decided to stay a second. We walked everywhere and didn't even take the car out of the ramp for the entire stay. Thanks for a great time. LRen12 Chicago, Illinois 1 review “Second Home” I have been traveling to Milwaukee for work and have stayed at the InterContinental almost every week for the last year and a half. Paul is almost always there to help me (and always cheerful and smiling) and goes out of his way to do tedious tasks for me like schedule all my reservations for the next six months. Kerry and Bryant are also great and have helped me out on numerous occasions. Thank you, everybody! Stephen B New York City 2 reviews 1 helpful vote “Best hotel in Milwaukee” 1 person found this review helpful I had to travel to Milwaukee twice over the past month for business, and can certainly say that the InterContinental is one of the best properties in the city. From the moment one of the bellmen opened my taxi door to the moment I checked out, I was greeted with professionalism, sincerity, excellent service, and barely had to wait for anything. Check-In was a breeze (my desk agents were Paul and Ericka - great team, really friendly and nice to talk to) and easy, my room was ready to go without any delay. Room was great (I was upgraded to a King Executive), and even appeared to be two rooms (one room has a couple couches and a TV, but feels like a mini-suite - cute!). Bathroom was clean and spacious. One note: the king bed linens are SOOO comfortable!! Housekeeping was great - never had any problems. Julie S Warren, Michigan, United States 1 review “Wonderful Business Trip” The staff was so friendly. Paul and Theresa at the front desk made my stay great! The rooms were clean. Their restaurant, Kil@Wat, was delicious!
  • 10. Alice N Castle Rock, Colorado, United States 1 review 1 helpful vote “Highly recommend this great hotel” 1 person found this review helpful Our great experience started prior to our arrival. Resheeda helped us get our room request and was a joy to talk to. We brought her an apple fritter from Colorado to express our thanks. From the moment we checked in, we received outstanding service from Paul. He gave us stellar recommendations for places to eat and things to do. When we returned to the hotel, he remembered our names and was standing at the ready to help us. We felt like old friends. The room where we stayed was clean, very comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The bed was so comfy and the linens were amazing. We stayed four nights. The hotel is in a great location. We were able to park on the street after 6pm at no cost, we simply had to call the city with our license plate and car location. The car must be moved by 8am the next morning. We also enjoyed an amazing breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. We are very happy with this hotel, and the wonderful people including Paul, Resheeda, and Brenda. We are looking forward to when we can come back and stay longer. We highly recommend this hotel. Carmin T Mauston, Wisconsin 1 review “Marvelous Stay at the Intercontiental Hotel in Milwaukee” I had the wonderful experience to stay at this hotel for Mother's Day Weekend. The chocolate bar on Saturday evening was superb. The staff are delightful, warm and welcoming and very helpful, particularly Paul Whitlock at the front desk was most helpful with Milwaukee's Mother's Day Events and reserving our beautiful room for this weekend. We enjoyed breakfast in the Hotel dining area and it was out of this world for selection and goodness. I most definitely will stay there again and recommend the place to all my friends.

Barry Pamenter Aberglasslyn, New South Wales, Australia 1 review 1 helpful vote “Fantastic Stay at the Intercontinental MKE” 1 person found this review helpful I had the fortunate experience to stay at the intercontinental for 3 weeks as part of a business trip. Aside from the fact that my Wifey was back home in Australia- it was like a home away from home. Let me break down some of the features of this hotel Service/Staff- I cannot commend the staff at this hotel enough. Each time I stepped into the lobby I was greeted with by a staff member. The restaurant staff was exceptionally impressive as I found myself arriving at my table, not more than 10 seconds before my morning tea was there to greet me. Each enquiry at the front desk was dealt with rapidly and it seemed that every enquiry become a personal mission of the front desk staff to get the best possible result! To be honest, there are a lot of people and services at this hotel that I literally miss interacting with (Paul, Maisy, Lucas, John, Travodis to name a few) and I'm very much looking to my return there later in the year. Do yourselves a favour Susan J Atlanta, MI 1 review “So enjoyable, we want to go back!!!” My friend and I drove from Northern Michigan to see the Tony Bennett concert. Our first experience was a very friendly Bellman, named Daniel. He welcomed us with a big smile with a very friendly attitude. He helped us with our luggage, and showed us to our room. Paul & J assisted us at the front desk and made us feel just as welcomed.
  • 12. TravelingBird80 Milwaukee, Wisconsin 1 review 1 helpful vote “5 Stars!!” 1 person found this review helpful This New Year’s Eve, my significant other and I wanted to 'get away' and do something different. I have heard many good things about this hotel and was excited to try it out for myself. Now, I must preempt this review by saying that I have had the privilege of staying (and working) in some of the country's most extravagant hotels, so I can be very picky when it comes to comfort and service. My experience at the Intercontinental was nothing short of amazing. As soon as we entered the finely decorated building, we were greeted warmly by the staff. Our front desk agent Paul was attentive, helpful, informative and friendly. 417Ronald Racine, Wisconsin, United States 1 review “Awesome Romantic Birthday Get Away” Every year I try to find an escape for my wife and I on her birthday, which is Dec 23! The mad rush of Christmas and the anxiousness of getting everything done before the bell of midnight; Dec 24th is always a hassle. This year I choose to go to a play which we have never experienced together and find a nearby hotel in Milwaukee close to the theater. I surfed the Internet an found the intercontinental Milwaukee a nice looking hotel from the ad on the net. Our plan was to drive up to Milwaukee which is 30 min away from Racine and have lunch then check into the hotel at 3pm, our plan was going well! When we got to the hotel that's when our experience went from well to great . The hotel was even more beautiful than the photos, the ambience was just let me say "awesome ". I could tell my wife was pleased and that means I would get a "great job baby". Then the event got even better' we was assisted by Paul W the guest services associate that not only politely checked us in, but offered an upgrade to a suite for only $30 more! Well of course this was a no brainier and I was doing extremely well by the wife :) But it does not stop there , when we got to our room and saw how extremely nice it was well let's say I was the Man!! Yet there is more! 30 minutes later room service brought up a free bottle of champagne an a box of chocolates on the house!! I could not believe ,free!! It keeps getting better not only did Paul take care of the room service but he got us complimentary breakfast for the morning! Wow, Paul
  • 13. really did ensure we had a great time. We had dinner and a night cap in the Intercontinental (We felt like we were 25 again). The entire ambience of this hotel and Paul of course will ensure we come back again and again for a get away from the kids and a little us time. Thank You Paul and intercontinental for a wonderful birthday for my wife and I :) 503Lynn76 Milwaukee, Wisconsin 1 review “Fun time! Great Staff!” I went to the Intercontinental Hotel for a birthday celebration. We ended up at the Zen Den (bar and dancing). The music was good. The crowd was friendly and the martinis are excellent. Turns out I lost my wallet and didn't even know it (never happened before) until one of the staff from the front desk, Paul Whitlock, went out of his way to contact me to inform me he had my wallet. I consider that EXCELLENT customer service. Dan S San Diego, CA 1 review “Our best stay in Milwaukee yet!” Recently my wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Intercontinental hotel in downtown Milwaukee. The staff here is truly amazing and made our stay so much more enjoyable. Paul at the front desk started our stay off on a positive and up-beat note. He was more than willing to accommodate a few specific requests that we had and upgraded us on the spot to the pink room (for breast cancer awareness) at my wife's request. Needless to say she loved the pink decor and accents throughout the room, thanks Paul! Chicagotalking 4 reviews Reviews in 3 cities

This hotel is walking distance from the Public Market and the Third Ward. One of the nicest things about it is its gracious staff. We just celebrated our 32nd anniversary at the hotel. Paul upgraded our room for a nominal fee and sent us an excellent box of chocolates and a bottle of sparkling wine. The food that was served was excellent. The room was very nice and spacious and clean. The Kilawat restaurant was also very good. We had luncheon meeting in there on our last day. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. The front desk clerk Paul was very helpful and polite. His restaurant choices were wonderful and he was very helpful overall. vhinsdale Annapolis, Maryland 1 review “Fabulous stay! Paul W. went out of his way to accommodate my family.” My husband and 1 year old son were hotel guests at the IC Milwaukee for 2 nights as part of a large group for a wedding celebration (that was also held at the IC.) Upon check-in, we were greeted with welcoming arms and smiles and at the front desk Paul went out of his way to accommodate us. We were given a fabulous room that had a small separate area so that once we put the baby to bed, we were able to relax in the other section of the room and enjoy the amenities. Each time we entered and exited the beautiful hotel, whether it was Paul who noticed my small family of 3 or another front desk worker, we were assisted with directions, suggestions, and stellar customer service. I would highly recommend this hotel to my family and friends in the future, and compared to other hotels I have stayed at in Milwaukee where I visit perhaps once every few years, this is the only place I will continue to give my business to. Thank you again, Paul!
