DPI UK are manufacturers of aluminium frames and lightboxes for specific use with ‘tensioned fabric’
graphics. We make a wide range of frame products that can be wall-mounted, free standing on feet
or even suspended from the ceiling, all of which can be illuminated if required.
Based on Pride Park in Derby, we work predominantly with the large format printing trade or creative
agencies, we take initial project briefs and quote them as finished products. If the customer would
rather have printed fabrics supplied with the hardware to save time then we will happily supply this
too as we work very closely with a couple of Dye Sublimation capable partners.
The popularity of ‘’soft signage’’ shows no sign of waning, in fact, the sector is growing exponentially
mainly due to the fact that fabric can be printed so vibrantly now and with excellent clarity. Couple
with this the fact that fabric can be folded or rolled for shipping and can be fitted by almost anybody
(fabric size permitting) and you have a product that tick all boxes. No longer does the ‘end user’ have
to pay for fitters with huge sheets of Dibond or Foam Board filing through their premises. The beauty
of fabric is that once the frame is in place, they can often change the image themselves and delivery
logistics are much easier and more economic.

Simple profile: Our 19mm profile does what it says on the tin. It can only be screwed directly to the
wall using the appropriate fixings for the wall in question. Fix it every 40cm minimum to avoid any
warping of the profile. There are no other accessories with this product.
Heavy profile: This 27mm profile can be screwed directly to the wall like the BASIC version. It can also
mounted slightly off the wall with height adjustable mounts for easier installation and removal.
Depending on the frame size required, we will recommend stabiliser bars to maintain the square of
the frame whilst lifting it to the mounts.

DOUBLE profile:
The double sided version of BIG is 44mm deep or 80mm deep depending on the height of the stand
you need. This variant can be used free -standing using a variety of feet or suspended from the ceiling.

Plastic profile:
Our plastic profile is supplied either in lengths or cut and mitred to size. Offered in black or white, this
extrusion takes fabric without the need for Keder edging of any type, you simply push the fabric in to
the profile with any thin metal tool.
The extrusion can be curved or bent enabling the construction on non-square displays. Simply notch
the profile, bend it and screw directly to the wall or any structure.

KEDER (Silicon or PVC edging)
Some kind of edging needs to be applied to the fabric print to enable the user to fit the fabric into the
frames recess. We have a few options for this.
Silicon or PVC edging on a 100 or 200 metre roll respectively at 14mm x 3mm – Silicon is more elastic
and so is easier to work with and fit. This kind of Keder needs to be sewn to the fabric.
Self-adhesive edging on an 80 metre roll at 14mm x 3mm – for those who do not have access to a
sewing machine.
‘’Hammer-In’’ edging on a 100 metre roll at 12mm x 7mm – mainly for bigger displays and used by
fitters on site to get avoid any fabric size discrepancies.

LIGHT BOXES
‘’Edge lit’’ flat pack
These thicker profiles (90mm, 120mm and 200mm) can be used as a just a frame or can be supplied
as a single or double sided lightbox. To achieve the latter, they will be fitted with LED Module electrics
around the perimeter of the frame allowing it to flat-packed for distribution. The lighting shines
across the unit rather from a solid backboard. Tensioned fabric can be placed on both sides to create
a double sided unit or just one side for a single sided unit. However, there are recesses for fabric
internally on the single sided profiles should the mounting wall be dark or uneven

Back lit ‘’flat pack’’ solution:
This 120mm profile tends be used for single sided lit applications. Fitted with LED CHAIN electrics, we
will fit removable stabiliser bars in the back of the frame allowing us to lay out the chain evenly to give
an even spread of light. This too can be supplied with a remote control dimming facility. This profile
can take fabric to the front and although cannot be lit from the back due to the bars, you can fit a rear
block-out fabric rather than a solid sheet so that it can still be flat packed.

Back lit solid panel:
A 50mm deep lightbox with a solid rear Dibond panel.
A slimline solution that has a special type of LED that does not cause hotpots on the fabric, despite
being very close to the print. Drivers are all internally mounted and cause no shadow at all.
These lightboxes, although super slim, can be cumbersome in large sizes as they do not flat pack. This
can make them tricky to get onto site and a little more costly to ship.
However, they give a perfect spread of even light across the fabric area.

WOODEN VENEERS ON ‘TFS’ FRAMES
Our 19mm and 27m deep wall frames are available in bespoke sizes with a range of real wood veneers
applied. The profiles have a bigger face area so they are more effective. Choose from Oak, Teak, Zebra,
Ebony and Maple.

ACOUSTIC ABSORPTION:
Using a variety of materials, we can supply your frames with a sound absorbing product that fills the
frame and sits behind the fabric print.
Place these in noisy venues (nursery’s, swimming pools, bars and offices) to kill echo and loud noise
to create a more relaxing environment.

STRUCTURES FOR SUSPENSION
A variety of structures that cab be dressed to the outside only or on two sides allowing the viewer to
see up inside the structure. DPI can supply full 3D structure or just frames (straight or curved) for
suspension using our own cable system.

BESPOKE PRODUCTS:
DPI can now make circular lightboxes with edge fitting LEDS, we can use RGB LEDS that change colour
on pre settings or via remote control.
Curving frames generally, covering them with wooden veneers, using rounded corners, non 90 degree
angle. We can achieve pretty much whatever it is you client needs.
