Paul Haggis is a Canadian screenwriter, film producer, and director known for his work in both television and film. He was born in 1953 in London, Ontario and showed a passion for storytelling from a young age. Haggis began his career writing for television shows in the 1970s and 1980s, which helped hone his skills as a writer. He is best known for writing and producing the back-to-back Best Picture Academy Award winners Million Dollar Baby in 2004 and Crash in 2005, for which he also served as director.
